I bought this phone and not 2 months after purchase it freezes randomly, doesn't lock down the keypad like it's suppose to, and doesn't go into sleep mode which drains the battery.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

A Very Bad Cell Phone
on October 9, 2013
Posted by: gabbymouth
I've had this phone for over a year now. With a warranty, I believe I've had 3 versions of this phone (due to unrelated causes) and all three were the same. The worst thing about this phone is the glitchy operating system--it lags. It lags very, very much. Pressing a button on most devices results in immediate feedback. With this phone, every single button press has a lag. Not tremendously long, but long and consistent enough that this phone should only ever be used by the most patient of people. The slide out keyboard is nice if you are a fan of texting, but the lag of the letters showing up on screen will infuriate any. Not to mention that anytime while typing a message and you receive another text, the phone freezes for a second, AND if you look at the text, even if it's from the person you are texting, it causes the phone to freeze again until it loads up the two option menu of whether or not you want to save the text you are writing. Or perhaps you don't look at the new text--if you press clear to go back, there's a 50/50 chance as to whether the phone will go back to the text you were writing, or back to the menu screen.
All of the ringtones are embarrassing.
The picture editing capabilities are very limited and glitchy.
It's very easy to butt dial and the keypad locks lag very heavily.
I don't even mess with the internet capabilities but I can't imagine they would be very good if the buttons lag as much as they do now.
If you are just looking for a basic phone for texting and calling, I recommend looking for something else. I don't remember how much I paid for it but I don't remember it being too expensive so I guess that's a pro. It seems durable too so that's nice.
Pros: Inexpensive, Durable
Cons: Poor quality, Too big, Did not meet expectations, very laggy
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overall a great phone

This phone is a great phone for texting. It is a perfect size, and easy to use. It only downside is that it cannot use music downloaded from MP3's as a ringtone. The only ringtones are those that are downloaded from Verizon.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: cannot customize ringtones with your own music
I would recommend this to a friend!

Will not last a year
on July 1, 2013

I had the first intensity and loves it!I have had the intensity for just under a year. The phone unlocks it self (I have it set on the most complicated lock possible) and it deletes contacts, changes settings, calls people, text people, and sometimes it just decides to not let you do something or just go off and do something. The screen is unreadable because of scratches from being in my pocket. Just hear recently the phones vibration capability has started to stop working, the phone will vibrate and the vibration will fade away unusually to what it was. I have had this phone for just under a year. Also, the phone can not hold a charge for more that 8 hours of stand-by and maybe an hour of use. I promise I am not rough on electronics, considering I have a iPod that I have had for two years and looks brand new.
I would not recommend this at all!
I do not like Samsung products anymore.
Pros: Inexpensive, all the keys still work, simple
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations, poor design, very limited capabilities, will not last for a two year contract, poor materials used
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hated this phone BUT it would be excellent if you are not a heavy texter.

If you plan on just using voice then this is the phone for you. (or if you are not a heavy texter) It is excellent for my elderly father who just needs to make a call.
I hate the texting feature. Eliminate the graphics of the letter going into the mail box. I hate that when I am responding to a text I am interrupted, have to select "view later" to continue my outgoing text, or else have to drag my text up from drafts and hope the person texting me does not send another text in the process.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations, annoying out going text graphics
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Samsung Intensity II U460

Albeit it is not a smart phone - and thank goodness there are a few 'non-smartphones' out there - this phone is super. Feels really good in your hand, perfect size, nice clear screen, the buttons are easy to use and read - even for my older hands and eyes.
It has capabilities that we don't use - because this phone is for my 17 yo son who doesn't understand moderation with data usage - and he doesn't get a data plan until he can afford his own (hope I live to see that happen!).
The buttons respond well, the menus are a little confusing at first, but within a few hours of using them, they become second nature. It has good sound, clear voice to voice, and while not important, I like the cool font!
I have 4 adult friends who have the Intensity or the Intensity II and they love theirs and don't want to upgrade.
The phone does all it needs to do and does it well. (and does alot more that we don't use).
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
I would recommend this to a friend!

Nice phone

I was very leery of switching to this type of phone because all I had ever used was flip phones. But now that I have made the transition I'm glad I did! I am very pleased with this phone and some of the features are a major plus for me! It's a great phone for calling & texting which is basically what I wanted & use it for. It also has good battery life. It has lots of features & settings that took me a little time to figure out. But after I got familar with everything & set it the way I wanted it; It's very easy to use! I read the reviews on this phone before I got it & to most of the people that complained about it, I say - They apparently didn't get familar with all of the features & settings. As for using this phone to surf the web - It's display is to small for me to see even with my glasses on. I do wish this phone was able to do video! But overall I'm very happy with it.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Inexpensive
Cons: no video
I would recommend this to a friend!
