Didn't work at all.

My wife purchased these hooks at Costco to hang Christmas lights in our daughters room across the top of the wall. FYI, I painted the room about two months ago with eggshell finish paint.
The adhesive would not stick to the paint. I cleaned each area with rubbing alcohol and followed the directions implicitly. The adhesive was not strong enough to hold the clip to the wall let alone anything else. This was an 18 pack item number 17067CLR-COST.
I am really curious if the type of paint I used on the walls has caused this problem. As a side note I painted the room two different colors white and green so technically the paint is different on alternating walls but the adhesive would not stick to either wall/color.

There was a change to the application steps for the strips and hooks to the walls for our Command™ Clear Products, which is due to the thinner profile of the actual strips. This change is reflected on our newer packaging. The strips should be applied to the wall first and then the hook should be pressed into place on the strips. The Little Hooks That Could

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought a mess of these at the home improvement store and have been happily placing them all around the house. Because they're clear, they work well as (interior) window hooks for my fragile sun catchers with narrow loops. My pot holders are now near enough the stove to grab, far enough to keep from catching fire. I have a clock where it can be seen for the first time in years; same with a touch-light in a dark closet.
I'm really jazzed - can you tell? Actively searching for stuff to hang up because I can play with my Command Utensil hooks - The Little Hooks that Could - go where Hooks have never gone before!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Love these cute Command hooks! I used these Command hooks to hang extra supplies for guests in the quest linen closet, items such as shower caps, q-tips, and shower puffs. Makes a nice presentation and it's easy to locate items too.

Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these hooks because I was thrilled with the fact that they are clear. Being a college student, I am all too familiar with using command hooks to hang up things in my dorm room (we are not allowed to put holes in the walls), but these fell short... literally. They never stayed up for more than a couple days. I even tried letting the hooks stay up for 48 hours before putting anything on them, but they still fell. I've used almost every adhesive sheet in the pack, but only one of my hooks is still sticking to the wall :(. My white hooks, however, are still going strong after a month.

Clear vs opaque

I've purchased and used tons of Command hooks and for the most part, I've been very satisfied with their performance; I love the ability to hang/move pictures, etc without putting holes in the walls. We recently remodeled our kitchen and I was delighted to discover the clear hooks but have been very unhappy with their adherence to and ability to hang the same items on the same surfaces. I've had a copper mold badly damaged when it fell to the [hard] floor and I've given up trying to hang the calendar on the pantry door.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used Command Strips in the past and have been happy with the results, but these new clear strips are not as good as the old white ones. I use four of these on my kitchen back splash to hold utensils. The back splash is a plastic laminate. Out of four hooks, one has fell four times after a few hours and one fell after four days which is how long they have been up so I expect the other to fall soon. I weighed the utensils and the heaviest one is 3.8 ounces, less then half of the stated maximum weight. I have basically the same hook in white (The Command Small Wire Hooks) which has been supporting a 9 ounce clipboard for over 6 months with no problems. I also notice that the strips with those are thicker. I don't know if that is the difference between the two but the thicker ones works better, at least for me.
