[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm very disappointed in the clear strips .They either don't stick or don't hold the same weight as the white .17067CLR. Ill be going back to the white ones

Thank you for taking the time to create your Rating and Review of the Command™ Clear Utensil Hooks. We are sorry to hear about the trouble that you were having with the product sticking to your walls. The Command™ Clear Product line uses a clear strip with a thinner profile compared to our standard white hooks and strips. The clear strips need to be applied to the surface first and then you put the hook on the strip. If you followed these directions and still had difficulty, we would ask that you contact us direct at 1-800-934-7355 so we can assist you further. We are here Monday through Friday from 7:00 – 6:00 CT. Thank you for your feedback and we hope to hear from you soon.

I Wish They Would Stay Up

I have the organizing bug this week, so I decided to buy more Command hooks to hang up necklaces near my dresser. I currently use 3 medium white hooks to hang scarves and small bags on the same wall. They work really well. I chose the value size clear utensil hooks because I really liked their appearance. Sadly, after very closely following all instructions in preparing surface, applying strips and hooks and waiting more than the 1 hour before hanging the necklaces, several of the hooks fell off the wall before I even hung anything on them. I carefully cleaned a second time with alcohol, and used up the extra strips that came with my hooks to re-apply three hooks. I also used an additional 30 seconds firmly pressing each of the 9 hooks to the wall. Then I waited overnight before hanging my necklaces. Today 2 hooks are down. It can't be the weight, since none of my necklaces are more than a few ounces. I am disappointed that I wasted my time and money with these hooks.

Thank you for taking the time to create your Rating and Review of the Command(TM) Clear Utensil Hooks. We are sorry to hear about the trouble that you have experienced with trying to use our product! There was a change to steps of applying the strips and hooks to the walls for our Command(TM) Clear Products - this is due to the thinner profile of the actual strips and is reflected on our newer packaging. The strips should be applied to the wall first and then the hook should be pressed into place on the strips. If you feel that you had followed all of the directions and were within the weight limits, we would ask that you contact us directly at 1-800-934-7355. We are available Monday through Friday from 7:00 - 6:00 CT. Please watch for a direct email as well. Thank you for your comments!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've used Command Strips in the past and have been happy with the results, but these new clear strips are not as good as the old white ones. I use four of these on my kitchen back splash to hold utensils. The back splash is a plastic laminate. Out of four hooks, one has fell four times after a few hours and one fell after four days which is how long they have been up so I expect the other to fall soon. I weighed the utensils and the heaviest one is 3.8 ounces, less then half of the stated maximum weight. I have basically the same hook in white (The Command Small Wire Hooks) which has been supporting a 9 ounce clipboard for over 6 months with no problems. I also notice that the strips with those are thicker. I don't know if that is the difference between the two but the thicker ones works better, at least for me.

Disappointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I bought these hooks because I was thrilled with the fact that they are clear. Being a college student, I am all too familiar with using command hooks to hang up things in my dorm room (we are not allowed to put holes in the walls), but these fell short... literally. They never stayed up for more than a couple days. I even tried letting the hooks stay up for 48 hours before putting anything on them, but they still fell. I've used almost every adhesive sheet in the pack, but only one of my hooks is still sticking to the wall :(. My white hooks, however, are still going strong after a month.

Thank you for taking the time to write a Rating & Review on our Command™ Clear Utensil Hooks. We are sorry to hear of the difficulty you experienced with our product. We would expect the hooks to hold items weighing up to ½ lb. when used on smooth surfaces. We understand that you followed the instructions, even allowing for a longer period of time before placing anything on some of the hooks. Please watch for a direct email to your attention so that we can discuss a solution for you, including replacements. Thank you.

1 Star = Poor I've purchased and used tons of Command hooks and for the most part, I've been very satisfied with their performance; I love the ability to hang/move pictures, etc without putting holes in the walls. We recently remodeled our kitchen and I was delighted to discover the clear hooks but have been very unhappy with their adherence to and ability to hang the same items on the same surfaces. I've had a copper mold badly damaged when it fell to the [hard] floor and I've given up trying to hang the calendar on the pantry door.

VERY Disappointed :-(

I am very OCD about my Command hooks, I use them everywhere & have for 14 years (I should have bought stock way back then). I purchased 2 of the clear medium size hooks & clear strips value packs at a big box hardware store. I was so excited to start my Christmas decorating. I cleaned all the locations to hang my beautiful new decorations with alcohol, let it dry an hour or more, placed my strips, then placed my hooks, waited 2 or more hours & hung my pretties! Within 2 hours the hooks were pulling off the wall from the top, then the ones on the wrap around bar cabinets started pulling off from the top, soon, everyone of the value pack strips had DIED & the hooks were falling down along with my decorations!! :-0 Thank goodness I always keep a supply of extra hanging strips, the good old white ones!! :-) I replaced the clear strips with the white ones after cleaning the walls & hooks & waiting for everything to dry again . Voilá..... Everything was as it should be, in fact everything is still hanging perfectly 3 weeks later, same hooks, different strips. I WILL NEVER buy the clear strips again. Sorry 3M folks, you missed the boat on this clear strip product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Thank you so much for leaving your detailed review on our product. We are happy to know you love them. Our clear strips are expected to hold up as well as our foam strips but do best on completely smooth surfaces. We ask any customer having trouble to contact our team at 1.800.934.7355 M0-F 8am-5pm CT. Please know we will be sending you a direct e-mail offering assistance. Thank you.
