Could use a change in design. Put a slot in it so a person could slip a couple of fingers through to hold it easier. My son is a quadriplegic and he can't grip things but he needs something to cut open plastic bags that hold catheter kits pizza pockets bags of chips etc. He is an adult and is trying to be self sufficient. Back in the 50's - 60's they had one that had the slot and the blade was replaceable and I had a couple but since they are plastic they have finally broken and we are trying to fine something else for him to use. Especial with opening the catheter kits that is done on the lap most of the time there isn't a table handy to lay it on. BUT HE IS TRYING TO USE IT AND AT LEAST THE POSITION OF THE BLADE IS BETTER THEN IN OTHERS THAT WE HAVE TRIED. BUT OTHERWISE IT WORKS WELL FOR ANYONE ESLE.
This letter opener is useful for boxes large envelopes and small envelopes. It is very safe and it is impossible to cut yourself. It does the job and does not rip the contents. No complaints.
