The letter openers do a great job of opening all sorts of envelopes. I used to tear open letters often resulting in torn letters. Since I got this things have become more efficient no more scrap pieces from hand opened envelopes lying around.

No More Paper Cuts!

I have these in several place in my house: my desk; near the mail slot; near the telephone (I open mail while on the phone). They're great for opening letters (of course) but also do a fantastic job on opening boxes and cutting through tape of all kinds.
