I never knew where to find this style of letter opener and all of the ones I had received as promotions has dulled over the years. I love the easy storage and the sharp efficient edge. It's not an item to leave around young children but I find it very useful in the office. The price is very reasonable. I do wish it was available in a selection of colors as the black is not the most visible color and it would be nice to spot it a little easier in a crowded drawer or cluttered desk top. This item far out performs the more elegant "knife" style opener.

These little cutters are inexpensive and stay sharp for a long time. I would not be without one I have purchased them for my home office and each of my clients that I work onsite. They are a must have item!

Letter openers -- What's not to like?

These letter openers are awesome. So compact so ergonomic. They fit perfectly in my hands. We know that the Stapes design bureau spent many hours had their best design engineers developing and probably discarding many prototypes before settling on the final product. Let's look at them in operation: they fit snugly in my hand. They produce none of the dreaded letter opener fatigue that plagues those who must open many many letters in a row. After four or five hours of opening letters one can become very fatigued and that is dangerous--who knows when you might miss the very tiny space between the sealed flap and the main body of the envelope and if you miss tragic results might ensue. These letter openers have not failed me once. I have yet to find the stubborn letter that these letter openers could not conquer. I suppose the simple high tech design will mean that future repair or maintenance issues will not be an issue the way they were with earlier generations of letter openers. I'm sure I will get many useful hours and years of service from these. I'm so ecstatic over finally finding such a well-engineered innovation that I plan to buy more and place them all over the house. I don't want to turn around without having one of these letter openers more than a few feet. In fact I consider that a necessity. If only they came in various designs.

opener works

This letter opener works really well. I love it! But i have bought them before and they don't last too long. I am not sure if they get dull after a while or the gum from envelopes gunks them up. But eventuall they are tearing the envelopes not slicing them
