[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This had literally EVERYTHING I could ask for in a shredder. P4 shred level (HIPPA requirement) 100+ page shred count micro cut chew through paper clips basically anything I could throw at it AND $100 less than the closest competitor!! Sadly I could not get the unit to power on upon arrival. I am hoping to get the unit swapped out as this is an amazing deal for what it can do. I can already tell the bin will need to be emptied more often than I'd like but I'll take it at this price point.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Overall Impressions and Efficiency: After using this 12-sheet capacity shredder in my home office I must say it performs admirably. Compared to my 15-year-old shredder it has similar speed and performance efficiently handling multiple sheets at once without a hitch. This consistency in speed and functionality was impressive. Bin Capacity: The bin capacity of this shredder is more than sufficient for regular home office use. The fine shred it produces can be easily compacted allowing for extended use without frequent emptying. This is a significant improvement over older models that often required more frequent maintenance. Placement and Ease of Use: I kept this shredder in my home office and its compact size fits perfectly without taking up too much space. It's very easy to use with straightforward controls and minimal setup required. The design is user-friendly ensuring that even those who are not particularly tech-savvy can operate it with ease. Noise Level: Regarding noise while it’s not whisper-quiet the shredder's sound level is more than acceptable. It's quieter than a vacuum cleaner and I found it comfortable enough to use without ear protection (unlike when I vacuum). For those particularly sensitive to noise using earplugs might be beneficial but in my experience it's not necessary. Overall this shredder meets all my expectations for a home office environment combining efficiency capacity and ease of use into a compact and reliable device.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am delighted and impressed with this product. It was easily assembled and the instructions are simple. I tested it with a thick grocery bag folded up and it shredded it with ease. The shredder is quiet and has nice features such as casters a window in the bin and automatic start up and turn off. I will be using this product primarily at home for private documents but will also use it for unneeded paperwork from my classroom.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Staples 20 Sheet paper shredder was a fantastic upgrade for my home office. My old shredder was only a 12 sheet and would struggle compared to the Staples 20 Sheet. The unit is heavier and only slightly larger in overall size but the increase in power and how fine the material is shredded is well worth it. This shredded will remain a key piece of my home office.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was able to test out the Staples 12 Sheet Micro Cut Shredder. This is a huge upgrade from the 5-sheet shredder I had. Out of the box there is minimal setup required. The wheels need to be attached at the bottom and the lid placed onto the top of the shredder canister. What I like is that this is a micro-cut shredder. I’ve never owned one before and the micro-cutting feature is nice so I don’t have to worry about someone piecing together sensitive information. To start shredding one would have to slide the top back and it will be ready to shred. The shredder motor starts on and there is a blue light indicating that. I would have liked to see an on/off button implemented into the shredder after you open the lid for more safety. There are also two accessible buttons to bring the paper back up or down in case there is a jam. There are wheels for easy mobility and it is easy to take to another room. The capacity is a whopping 5 gallons and there is a clear window where you can see the shredded material. Overall a good shredder with a large capacity that can handle several pages at a time. Credit cards shred with no difficulty. Good for personal home use or someone who may work from home.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product is a shredders dream. The machine itself is a bit heavy but also very sleek modern looking and most importantly durable. Set up was simple and I didn’t have any issues with paper jamming. I shredded 8-10 sheets at a time with ease. The container that holds the shredded elements is big enough that you don’t have to empty it constantly (I’ve shred almost 300 documents without having to empty - you can see how full it’s getting from the small window in the front which is a plus). It’s compact so fits nicely in a small space near my workspace. The shredder is not very loud which is a definite plus. . I am very pleased with the overall efficiency of this product and would highly recommend it.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My need for a shredder as an educator has grown over the years. I was apprehensive as every shredder I have used in the past was bulky loud and difficult. Hello Staples! This shredder is a completely different breed and major upgrade from anything I had used before. Packaged so securely we struggled to get it out of the box. Easy set up instructions (my 11 yr old read them out to me) and a smooth assembly process. This is not a loud machine! It is small enough that it fits comfortably under my desk and get this IT WHEELS BACK OUT WHEN I NEED IT!!! It’s on wheels! Genius. I love this. It works exactly as advertised and I will take care of this to ensure it works for a long future of shredding.
[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is my first shredder. I missed a "quick start guide " but it really only took two minutes to set up and read the instructions out of the box. Within minutes I was able to shred 850 workbook pages. It easily shredded the laminated cardstock cover and the itty bitty pieces are so minuscule I'm confident that my sensitive documents would be safely shredded. The 850 pages did basically fill up the bin so if I were shredding for the 20 minute maximum I'd have to have a larger garbage handy. It's smaller enough and clean-looking: I would eventually slide it under my office desk easily but for now it stays in my broom closet (away from curious toddler hands). I do wish it had a place to grip at the safety slide top and an extra safety feature to be more childproof. All in all it covers my checklist for home/family shredding.
