Great Blu-Ray product

If you are looking for a great blu ray player for the cost, this is it. This player gives you every thing you need to enjoy quality Blu Rays at home. I own an LCD 60 GHZ 40" TV and it is phenomenal. Anything above that is icing on the cake.
There are 3 drawbacks.. and one of these is not the Blu Ray playes fault.. its Samsungs design for Navigation for the internet@Tv feature. Using the remote control to type your user name and passwords for certain accounts is a great pain. It takes forever just to type in your name let alone your password. The device is upgradable through samsung so maybe in the future the usability will improve. Other than that... I hope you have a lot of patience.
Another drawback is the Samsung PC Share manager for the AllShare feature. This is great if you have a lot of mp3's and movies saved on your TV. Its Samsung's version of MobileMe for the apple challenged. Major drawback is that if you have purchased many music from the apple iTunes store.. these m4's WILL NOT WORK on any samsung device because of the format. It must be MP3 for allshare to be compatible with the device's player. Very disappointed with this since 90% of all my music is Apple based.
The third drawback is the use of a USB WIFI dongle. Even though it does not come with buit in WIFI, you can always find good deals on the dongles. Or just use the ethernet cable directly into the device. You will probably get a faster connection doing that than using the WIFi dongle.
The dongle will be slower than normal WIFI connections. My Wii will perform at the same rate as my wireless router can dish out.. which is 8-13 Mbps on cable internet broadband. The samsung linkstick dongle retrieves 2.5-3 Mbps of the 8-13 Mbps on a good day. But a minimum of 1.5 is needed for hi-def viewing such as Netflix and youtube.
Overall.. an awesome product. And if you can find the dongle cheaper than listed or connect to the internet with an ethernet CAT5 cable ... go for it.... its worth the extra money. If you don't think its wise.. then buy the c5600. Its the same device only with built in WIFI and a different looking panel. But I am VERY happy with this device.
Cons: separate wifi, not compatible with itunes format music

The overall design of the player and its feature set are very nice, but the one problem I have with this unit is the lack of processing power of the hardware to actually drive the UI (user interface) without input / response lag particularly with the Netflix App (which is the whole reason I purchased this device... I have yet to actually play a Blu-Ray DVD on it, ironically enough).
One example: If you fast forward or rewind a Netflix movie, repeatedly pressing the "play" button will not take you out of the fast forward or rewind until many Many seconds after you pressed the "play" button on the remote. That sort of input / response lag is just not acceptable.
The workaround: Hit "Pause", then fast forward / rewind to where you want to be in your movie, hit "Pause" again and finally, hit "Play".
This player needs a more robust processor to handle the load, in my opinion. The above is but once example.
The unit is hard wired into my home network.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, good feature set
Cons: user interface lag
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This is the 2nd Blu Ray player I've owned, my first being a PS3. I found this particular Blu Ray player very frustrating, besides it being slow, not just in loading a DVD or Blu Ray, but also navigating through a title menu. When I want to stop a DVD or Blu Ray from playing, I have to repeatedly press the STOP button in order for the playback to end so I can get the main menu. Often on DVD's and Blu Rays the device will get stuck on the "Federal Warning" screen for up to 5 minutes before it continues to the main title screen.
My hobby is Audio and Video, my research for purchases is very detailed and I have expert knowledge level with AV merchandise. I already owned 3 Blue Ray player prior to the purchase. Two are high end, my Denon and Onkyo the other is a panasonic. My new Samsung Blue Ray is very impressive and out performs all 3 regarding load time and is very user friendly. Connection to the internet was easy, it took 2 minutes to set up. I have this player in my bedroom connected to my Samsung LNC550 37" LCD and the picture is beautiful. If you are in the market for a Blue Ray player you cannot go wrong with this one!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought it a little skeptical but ended up being very happy. Plays discs fast and the quality of picture is awesome. Design is very sleek. Especially like the buttons and the remote. Haven't purchased wireless adapter yet. Seems like it can only be purchased online. But overall.... EXCELLENT!!!
I would recommend this to a friend!
