Overall this BluRay player is a good deal. It has a lot of options for movie streaming and the image and video qualilty is amaizing. This is my first BluRay and I am very pleased. The only problem I have noticed is that it does lock up sometimes. In the 5 months that I have owned it I have had to cut power twice. Another minor issue is that my dog likes to sniff around the machine for lost toys. If he gets too close we will inadvertantly turn on themachine becasue the touch controls are so sensitive. If I had an entertainment center or an enclosure, this would not be an issue.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: locks up, sensitive control on front panel
I would recommend this to a friend!

the unit freezes up and shuts down alot, and you have to power down and reboot it to get it to work. It is suppose to support HD discs, and none of the HD discs I have bought would work on this unit. I had a cheeper quality LG disc player, NOT a Blue Ray player, and it was a 100% better than this more expensive and supposedly higher quality machine. My intent was to spend a little more for a machine with more perks, but I ended up spending more for inferior quality.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Not high def, Did not meet expectations, needed speaker jacks

Almost Can't Complain

The BR DVD player works great... except for every so often when it gets a disc in, and can't see it or chooses not to see it. And, it's not like the disc is dirty. Whether new or previously viewed, the player will just give a black screen. Turning the unit off and then on will rectify the situation. Even with that little problem, I am happy with the player.
Pros: Inexpensive
I would recommend this to a friend!

Slow, no built in Wifi. The ridiculously overpriced USB wifi stick! Rented a movie, player told me to update firmware to watch it. Fine, no problem. Did the update (which was incredibly slow)and still player said i needed update to watch movie. Can't tell player to automatically boot to main menu when there is a disc in the tray! Only one USB port so when you're online with the stupid looking wifi USB stick you have to remove it to plug in a video camer or other device...asinine!
Cons: Did not meet expectations, no built in wifi, usb wifi stick costly, lack of user settings
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Yeah, it isn't a normal dvd player. It does have internet connectivity. Whoopie.
The setup experience was a nightmare. Register a username here and there and still have problems connecting. Its totally confusing. Not easy at all. Not to mention, that you have to do this all through the remote control which isn't helping in this process.
While we are talking about remote control entry, when you try to type in a password that switches between uppercase/lowercase/numeric characters, you have to use the arrow buttons and to constantly flip between the different character sets. How do you NOT have this as a special button for me to press. The number of extra characters I have to enter is very frustrating and tedious. Yeah, I got it to work but it takes a long time to enter information. You can still have entry through the remote and have it be quicker than it is today.
Can't control the main menu when it pops up. Id really just like to have Netflix be on the bottom rail as it is the only app that I use at this time. But, when it first comes on, you have to navigate up a level and over 3 icons to get to it. Again. Frustrating.
Just feels like a half put-together product.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, lame app market, buggy, keyboard support
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

1. Remote Control did not function properly 2. DVDs would stick in player and drawer would not open on command. 3. With both the player and DVD being clean, the player would skip and distort sound. 4. Exchanged player at place of purchase for another of the same player and about 2 weeks later the same problems occurred. Returned player and exchanged it for a player of a different brand name.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality, unreliable
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
