This was a great value for what it gave us, which was a whole new world of streaming content. We rarely use the Blu-Ray player itself, since we can stream HD movies and shows. The apps that are available are great. Love this thing.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight

After owning it for less than 2 years, my BD-C5500 became completely and totally unable to stream any content from any source, could not connect to Smart Hub or Internet@TV, Netflix, nothing. I will now recycle it for a $15 fee.
Pros: Lightweight
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

great apps

I bought this Blur ray player because I wanted the apps. Plex was part of it and also Netflex. They work great. It interfaces very well with my Samsung Smart TV.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color

OK BD Player

Have had this model for 3 yrs and after 1 1/2 yrs the remote stopped working and we had to buy one off the internet to replace it. Now when we play Blu-rays the machine skips and freezes. It will play basic DVDs smoothly, but not Blu-rays.
Maybe we just bought a lemon? I'd love this product if it would play the dang Blu-rays!
