Somewhat Dissappointed

I have owned the Samsung C5500 for over three months. I purchased the wireless adapter almost immediately and have had several problems. The device frequently has network errors even though the three other wireless devices I have never have connectivity problems. The software is very slow and the player is prone to frequent lock ups regardless of installed software and drivers.
I have a Samsung TV and monitor for my PC. I love them and thought I would get the same quality out of their BluRay player. I was mistaken.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, slow, frequent software lock ups
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I wish I would have read the box more closely there was a part missing from this unit if you wanted to go wireless. I had to order it separately which was a whole other problem but now that it has arrived it meets my needs. Just there was more information on the box about wireless.
I would recommend this to a friend!

If you buy this, you will be disappointed. Cannot download any video streaming app. The only app I could download was something I really didn't want. Then, I couldn't delete it!!! SO FRUSTRATING!!! Bad design on the internet side. Didn't bother trying a disc because half of what I watch is streaming. Boxing it up and getting it out of my house.
Pros: nothing
Cons: Poor quality, will not download apps
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Samsung BD-C5500 Is Just OK...Slow & Freezes

[Review date: 4/15/11] My title says it all...the blu-ray player is a bit slow loading/responding and online services/programs have frozen the unit to no avail until turned off and back on again. Once, I was able to get the unit to "exit" the (Netflix) program, but I still had to re-start the service to get back to my program...either way, it takes time to reload. I also have both another (red fruit) TV receiver which has never had such a problem...wirelessly! and Media Center (on PC) that also has never lost programming during playback. I also encountered glitches using the USB port to play media...Samsung unit displaying 'unrecognized device', only recognizing USB device after re-insertion but then losing connection to USB connected device. Anyway, I want to like this player so, I am going to give it some more time for a possible firmware upgrade to improve performance and also to determine product longevity...I'm expecting a minimum of 3 years (hoping for 5 years) trouble-free use.
Pros: Inexpensive, Lightweight
Cons: Did not meet expectations, poor firmware/software performance

I am enjoying this product and the ease of connecting it to the internet and enjoy the quality and the features it offers. Its very easy to use and setup with high picture quality with almost different tv's i tried it on. simply samsung is a trustworthy brand in electronics.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight
