Thou I already have a Samsung SMART TV I really enjoy my Blu-ray player because it has the SMART function widgets as well. So when listening to music from Pandora or watching movies on Netflix I can truly get immersed since my Samsung Blu-ray runs thru my surround sound home theater receiver! The Blu-ray picture quality is so life-like that whenever we have guest over people always comment "What kind of TV is that and who makes it" and with a sinister grin I always reply SAMSUNG of course.....
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, smart content
Cons: dvd loading time
I would recommend this to a friend!

This Blue ray is loaded with great smart --everything hook it up to the internet and you get everything.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight, easy hook-up

After attempting one of the upgrades, I could no longer play several Blu-Ray discs. Ironically some do play, but others do not.
I have an Samsung LCD TV as well and wish turning off the Blu-ray player the tv would default back to Cable.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Poor quality, Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We've had this product for about three years, and rarely in that time, have we gotten the Internet@TV to work. I think it is the software, or some kind of flaw in the hardware, but this is very frustrating. There are numerous firmware and software updates, none of which fix all the problems and most only compound the problems. In fact, most software updates, freeze the machine and the machine has to be rebooted, but often times the update starts again only to freeze the machine again. Of course, there is no option to decline the update. The machine plays DVDs and Blu-rays nicely, but doesn't remember where we stopped (our previous DVD players (not Samsung) could recall where you stopped on 6 different DVDs at once!), so this machine which can not remember our place on even one DVD is most frustrating (with a young child, we often need to watch the DVD over multiple nights). I am so tired of constantly swearing at the DVD while trying to get it to do what you expect it to do, having the player freeze up, and having to restart the player, that I want to take it outside and hit it with a 20 pound sledgehammer so that I have a good reason to buy a new one. I may break down and buy a new DVD player (NOT Samsung of course, after this experience) without resorting to my sledgehammer...... I had a Samsung cell phone once, which I absolutely loved, so I thought when we purchased this Blu-ray, that I would be very happy with it. Unfortunately, that is not the case.
Cons: Did not meet expectations, firmware stinnks
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
