Setup was easy. Works great with the new 46" Samsung LEDTV. Picture in BluRay is fantastic. Like how the remote works with the TV too.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight, excellent picture in bluray, great remote

Fantastic Blu Ray

This was a birthday gift, I had no idea that I even wanted a blu ray. Once I hooked it up to my HDTV, started playing with all the applications, and then I saw a movie.
The visual difference is astounding, the sound, the depth of the picture. being online the blu ray updates itself to the latest upgrades for the movie and capabilities.
This is a great product for not a lot of money. I would highly recommend this blu ray for anyone.

Being new to blu-ray and having this player for only a few weeks, I am still getting used to navigating, but I must say I am pleased with the picture and even how old DVD's look better on it.

Look no further than the Samsung C5500 Blue-ray player!

Worked right out of the box! Setup was simple and straight forward and I was able to begin watching blue-ray movies almost immediately. I was blown away by all of the features that come along as part of the product. Now I can enjoy watching Netflix and other online video/audio services without having to get up and reconfigure my system. I was also able to connect it to my PC to look at video files I have stored there. Really satisfied with this product!! Not just a Best Buy but a Must Buy!!

I purchased this unit because it was inexpensive and has all sorts of good features including streaming video from Netflix and others. The video and audio quality are definitely good. The unit is beautiful and the back-lit capacitance touch buttons are definitely aesthetically pleasing. All was going well until we tried to pause a movie. After pausing for just a minute or two, the machine refuses to return from pause. I alternate between turning the machine off and on again or hitting stop and play again to get the movie to restart. Half the time I am forced to use the chapter index on the DVD menu to find where it left off.
Another major defect in this model is that pressing play on the front of the machine will not start the DVD playing when it is at the main menu. I left the remote control at a friends house when she borrowed my player and could not start the DVD without the remote. Every single player I have ever used will allow me to start the DVD from the machine's button panel but this one.
If these two faults were fixed on my machine, I would raise my rating immediately to four stars. As it sits, this is just barely earning the two I gave it. Basic functionality is necessary before any fancy features can be counted.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: Did not meet expectations
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
