I dont know if this happened because of one of the firmware updates but my player will not read Blu-rays anymore.Just DVDs.
Pros: Inexpensive
Cons: will not read blu-ray discs
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

This product has great features for blu-ray movies or even regular movies.

This blu-ray player was a gift to me but it has all the great features like when you put a movie in the player, your t.v. will turn on automatically by itself if you have it off. If you switch to regular t.v., the movie will pause by itself. This was a terrific gift.

This gem was easy to set up immediately out of the box. I have found it a little quirky when it comes to navigating through regular DVD menus. The picture quality is fantastic. This is definitely a good bang-for- your- buck buy.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, easy setup
Cons: menu navigation is slow, quirky with dvd menus

I was lucky enough to get this on sale, great bargain. I've only had it 3 weeks so far but have no complaints. I also bought one for my daughter to use in her room.

This is my first Blu-ray player and I couldn't be happier with it. It does everything that I expected it to do and more. I didn't need the wireless adapter as I knew I was going to connect it directly to my router. The apps working perfectly and the streaming is excellent. So far, (only a month) I haven't had any problems with it. I would certainly consider another Samsung product in the future.

Bought this for my wife and I for Christmas this year. We were replacing an older DVD player and decided to forego 3D in favor of simple Blu-ray with DVD 1080i upsampling. The addition of Internet TV, Pandora radio, and other software features makes this a no-brainer.
Setup was simple. Integration into our home entertainment system was easy (we use a Logitech One programmable remote and replacing the old DVD player with the new Samsung c-5500 was a snap). Connecting up to our home network was simple and straightforward.
The picture quality, load time, and features with Blu-ray media is fantastic. The upsampling of standrad DVD media is nothing short of amazing. All of our old DVD movies look fresh - we're rediscovering many old favorites from our library thanks to the Samsung player.
This is a great product at a very good price point with the features that you'll use the most.
