Overall great product

I went through 3 different brands/players before settling on this one. I had major problems with all the ones before and had to return them to the store. This one has done well and not given me a problem. I have owned it for 8 months now, and had a great experience with it.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, touch sensitive buttons, player's remote works as a tv remote also, good value for the money
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have never been able to play a BluRay on this since purchased.

I've had to do a firmware update the first time I tried to play a BluRay movie, and it's never recognized one since. The download from the website has never worked and had to be sent a CD, today, another CD being sent. I'm very disappointed in this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Cons: no built in wi-fi

Nice Player

This item was a gift and I truly have no complaints about it. There are times when certain disks will not play or even load and they do play in my other player. I am not sure if this is due to the disk itself of the player though. I like most of the features the player comes with and the Menu is simple enough to use. Unfortunately I no longer have an internet connection so cannot use some features.
Pros: Inexpensive, Realistic color
I would recommend this to a friend!

Samsung Blueray C5500

I first got this device primarily to stream Netflix on a non internet Samsung HDTV.
For my purposes this device has worked fine.
The only issue I had at first was with the Anynet feature screen popping up every time I turned on the TV.
With a R*ku and G**gle TV It has been negated to it's rightful purpose of playing DVDs' and BDs'.
Final note.... the upscaleing of SD dvds is fantastic!! That it plays great Blue ray is a given. I was just really amazed at how all my old movies looked.. I have this in a dedicated home theater Room that used to be a recording studio. Everything is hooked up in a way that gives me limitless options, more so with the HTPC. All connected to APC power conditioners and surge protection, a H**mon K**don 7.2 reciever to 2 crossovers split up into a Maki* 16 channel active studio power amp. From there, options to run to in wall P*lk Stereo speakers for everyday stuff or 7.1 for regular night time movies and sports, and/or to 3 sets of unbelievable sounding Martin Logans and 2 P*lk Audio subs, and the thunderous Kickers built into a custum sofa lounge. That is mostly for parties and listening to final mixdowns from the new recording studio.
Again for my purposes this SAMMY Blue ray is great. I know it is entry level, but I have fallen prey before to the tech bug. It is never either or, It is all or none. the older I get the longer I can make stuff last a year or 2 longer. If I would have baught into 3D when it came out I would not have the ability to look into the new types without glassess. That are really just hitting stores. But I am Happy with my Sammy TVs and Blue Ray. Now just waiting for tech to give me a good option of converting old VHS and music cassettes to a solid Digital alternative, So far Lossless wav with a D/A converter is great through old tube amps.
Too bad so many younger people will never hear or feel the sound of a good record. If you are young and enjoy music, try any Pink Fl*yd on a great turntable. You won't even recognize it from an mp3 album.
Pros: Bright display, Inexpensive, Realistic color, Lightweight
