In the middle of the night, another pictre fell,so we took all of the command products we had purchased back and just put nals in the wall which was one thing we did not want to do.

Thank you taking the time to rate our product. We apologize that the product did not work for you. It must have been frustrating to think that you would be able to hang something up "damage free" and this happens. We do have some questions about which product you used and where it was used as we would not expect our product to fail in this way. Please look for a direct email from us with some contact information. We do want to assist you further with this issue and we look forward to hearing from you!!

Disco Demolition Photo Exhibit

Hi Folks,
Last year was the 30th anniversary of Disco Demolition at Comiskey Park in Chicago. I had an exhibit of my photos taken on July 12, 1979 at The Music Garage in Chicago. This event was documented by television and the internet. The photos were hung with the 3M Command Strips because the gallery did not want holes in their walls. The Command Strips stayed up for 3 months without losing their grip of the 10-30x40 boards. The show was a huge hit and see by many Chicagoans. Thank you for making the exhibit possible and making me look like a champ.

I have an antique business and thought these were the answer to hanging frequently changed displays of wall art on 100 year old plaster walls into which nails cannot be driven. Not so. Several times I have come into the shop and found the framed art on the floor and the Command Strips partially pulled away from the walls.

I Hun a 3lb picture and frame with 5lb capacity hooks. needless to say but I have a a spot on my wall with the paint torn off and shattered glass and a broken frame from the picture I tried to hang using "Damage-Free Hanging Hooks". And yes, I followed the instructions to a "T" but now have more damage then if I had out some nails in the wall.

Thank you for your review of our Large Picture Hanging Strips. We recommend using the Command™ Picture and Frame Hanging products for your purposes. Our general purpose hooks will hold the picture frame too far out from the wall, which may cause failure, and in some cases, pull the paint off of the wall’s surface. We noticed that you commented on using the 5 lb capacity hook; however the review is for our Command™ Large Picture Hanging Strips. We have sent you an email to discuss more about your experience so that we can provide a resolution for you. Thanks!

WE used these strips to have large pics and frames etc in our daughter's college dorm room. Made life so much easier and a piece of cake to take down. They're just quite pricey!

I recently purchased this product to hang a spice rack on the inside of my kitchen cabinet. They have been holding fast with 20 glass spice jars and the spice holder! Now my spices are accessible and I have no damage to the inside of my cabinets due to screws! Excellent!

Maybe its because they were on my wall for a year, but when I went to remove the strips from my walls, about half of them broke before I got the whole thing off the wall (tore in two). Of the 33 pictures I had in my hallway, 12 holes in the paint remain as a result of either the strip ripping in two while I was trying to remove it or because it ripped the paint off before I was done. The largest hole is about two inches across and 1 inch up and down (it just kept coming up). The smallest one is about .5 inch by .25 inch (most are close to this size). I bought oodles of these things because I didn't want to put any holes in the walls. Boy was I wrong.
Oh and at random intervals during the past year, three of my pictures just fell off the wall (the whole apparatus detached from the wall, not my picture).

Thank you for taking the time to write a Rating & Review. We would expect Command(TM) Brand Products to remove cleanly from the surface regardless of how long they have been on it. If the tab tears during removal we would suggest using dental floss or fishing line to sea-saw behind the hook and then rolling up any remaining adhesive strip left on the wall to prevent damage that pulling or prying may cause. We have a link on how to do this on our website www.command.com and click on the "how to use" banner. Also, keep in mind the strips must be stretched down towards the ground during removal and not out as this may increase the chances of paint pulling. Please keep an eye out for a direct e-mail so we can assist further.
