Great for home and office

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’ve been looking for a shredder to do double duty for our household needs and for work related tasks. The Staples 24 sheet cross cut commercial shredder is exactly what I’ve been looking for. Not only is it an attractive piece of equipment but it is also a workhorse! I recently had to shred multiple packets containing sensitive material (each packet between 10 and 23 pieces of paper) and the shredder handle all of them with ease never jamming once. It’s very easy to empty and had no issues with the staples in the documents either. I highly recommended this for shredding large projects as well as for the incredible amount of junk mail everyone receives!

Great for a small office

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have this shredder in my home office at the moment though I believe it would work very well for a small office as well. After receiving the shredder I tested it on a box of documents I’ve been meaning to shred for months. It took care of the whole box in about 10 minutes. I felt the bin capacity was generous however you often have to open the bin every once in awhile and push the piled up paper away from the sensor long before the capacity is reached. This along with the fact that there’s no pull handle or place to grasp the bin to pull it out makes the task more annoying than it should be. I’ll be using this to shred client documents containing sensitive information and the shred size is appropriate for this. I like the wheels on the bottom of the shredder as this will be tucked in the corner of my L-desk. The shredder is very easy to use especially considering mine didn’t appear to come with any directions.

Compact and efficient

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have been using this shredder in my home office for a couple of weeks and I love it! It is a bit heavy but rolls easily over hardwood floors and its compact size makes it a great addition to my office. I can shred up to 24 sheets of paper at one time with no problem and I like that it has the capability to shred credit cards and CDs. The shred size is small enough that sensitive information is obscured and the bin can hold a couple of weeks of regular shredding before it needs to be emptied. As my first shredder I'm very happy with how quiet and easy it is to use!

I love the capacity and it performed great. However I am not wild about the bin setup. Back comes unattached and has to be resituated. I have a previous model and it the bin works great. Mine is model TR-AXC243A. Your site says the TR-AXC model that i have is being discontinued otherwise i would have ordered it. Using this at the church but I suppose i will keep it rather than return it.

The enclosed plastic bag is too small to use in the machine. The cutting output is too large and fills the basket much quicker because there is more air pockets generated. The unit is too small. The sides of the basket are not the same height causing and assisting shredded paper to fill between the back of the basket and the back of the unit. This contributes to the basket being pushed out of the unit and terminating future use until a power reset is made. Also with this problem is the fact insertion of the basket may be stopped and prevent use until the paper has been removed from inside the unit. The child proof safety feature at the turn on is problematic when these paper issues occur because the reset is a start over scenario. I don't need this level of safety nor the limits to volume this unit delivers. The unit is quiet when running. I owned a larger different model for many years until the motor died and I purchased this one. I own a business and this unit is good for infrequent use since the problems I list would generally be lessened. In time after my emergency project is complete I will look for a more compatible unit to my needs. My two stars includes the generous feed section relative to inserting the number of pages (24 max) at one time the relative shipping experience the inability to pick up (and view) the unit and the unit price. Much of this review would have been different had the unit been at a store such that a better buying decision could have been made. As I alluded to before I would have returned it but I needed a unit quickly and not time to wait or get a replacement. Online purchasing is not cut and dry and often results in returning purchases. There are no photos to this review for a number of reasons. Mainly they would be of no further benefit and would be difficult to capture the issue and this review mechanism is getting slower and time consuming to input the more characters I use.

Overall the shredder works great although I have only had a week. Assembly was easy just take out of the box and plug in. I like the window to see how full it is. I will say the shredder is a bit louder this may because it shreds 24 at a time the engine is more powerful and loud. I am having a hard time with having a bag in the drawer and ensuring the drawer closes all the way. Maybe I have too big of bags? I am hoping this shredder lasts a long time. We are enjoying it so far!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This is a very efficient shredder that can handle up to 24 sheets at a time. It is the perfect size for a small office! It is also quiet enough for a small office space as well. The bonus of being able to handle credit cards and CDs was also a great addition. I tried out the credit card function and was impressed. The size of the shredded fragments are perfect. This is definitely more secure than just long strips. My favorite feature was the ability to add a bin liner to make emptying easier. The bin is large enough that it doesn’t have to be emptied often but the liners do make it convenient when the time arises. Overall I would recommend especially for the small business owner with limited space looking for an efficient and secure shredder.

Shredded Perfectly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This shredder is first and foremost-heavy! But I took that as a good sign-and it was. This thing shreds credit cards multiple papers at a time folders etc. it’s a beast. And it’s nice to have that peace of mind that my personal information isn't going into the trash and could possibly be found. These days it seems like your personal info is everywhere and running a small business I want to make sure we are doing our due diligence with disposing of material with account numbers addresses etc. and this shredder sure makes that a lot easier! Would recommend to anyone personal or business. It isn’t gigantic so it’s perfect for personal or small business. Pretty quiet too!
