I used to rely on ziplock bags, quart and gallon sizes especially, for storing many items, hamburger, chicken, pancakes. The quality of the Ziplock brand was definitely far and above what any competitor could muster. Since they have added these "easy open tabs" the quality just isn't there. The sides rip every time I open them, and the easy open tab just isn't. You need to bring your quality back to where it was, because you're just not the only option on the market.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

They are sturdy and easy to zip closed as well as open. 60 come in the larger box. The plastic is sturdy and there are just so many uses for them beyond food storage. I've used them to organize and store things, filled them with water to freeze for ice and cooler packs. they are great in the car to hold wet clothes and wash clothes. I fill them with dog food when I travel and pack them flat. Gallon size is the size i use for food most often. I keep prepped raw veggies in them for easy and fresh access. Ziplock brand makes a superior product.

These bags are absolutely awful! You can't turn the top to fill, because the zip lock section splits open and a few have split all the way down the side. Even without a noticeable tear at the top, about a quarter of the bags LEAK
