Something went wrong with the new design

I have been using Ziploc for many many years, but the current "easy open tabs" are very poorly designed. I have ripped the bags on the seal and on the side on many occasions. It appears that the seal is stronger than the bag. The seal stays shut, but the bag rips. Bad, bad, bad. Can I get a refund or the old bag bck?
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Why can't you make non pouch bottoms again?

I used to like the old bags as the opening at the top was larger and no pouch at the bottom. I use them to freeze meat and cheese which I flatten so they stack easier in the freezer...these new bags are not very helpful and perhaps both should be made.

Glad I got to try this bag and use it to freeze my food. I used to use plastic wrap but and then bag it. This Ziploc bag is much better.

They are sturdy and the zip doesn't break like some other plastic bag options. I also like the new 'stay open' design. It's very convenient for filling the bag up. I've used ziplock for years, now I'm looking for a new brand. The new "easy tabs" rip from the bag making it nearly impossible to open. The quality of the plastic has down down and more than half the time now they leak. Hopefully they make some changes soon.

Leaks after freezing

I've tried countless times to freeze soup in these bags. Full, half full, next to empty. They freeze and store fine. But if i try to defrost them in a bowl of cool water, they ALWAYS leak. Water gets in. Soup gets out. Every time. Very frustrating!!

Great bags, just not when thawing

I've used ziploc bags for years but the last year or so I've noticed that they leak when thawing meat. Not from the top, but from the bottom corners. This happens every time. I don't know if it is cheaper or thinner plastic, but frankly I don't trust them anymore. I've gotten in the habit of double bagging for thawing, which means I go through twice as many bags as I should. Freezer, yes, after that, no.
