We are thoroughly disappointed in the Ziploc bags we recently purchased: Megapack 60 Freezer Gallon Ziploc bags UPC 25700 70953 (P0510301W0254)! The new double zipper mechanism is a disaster: • it is hard to close; multiple attempts are often needed; • one doesn't feel the seal being formed as one did with the earlier versions of Ziploc bags; • apparently sealed bags are not water-tight as were earlier versions of Ziploc bags; liquid leaks out the end of the new-style zipped portion. The last of these failings means that at least a couple of the tips given on this Ziploc webpage https://ziploc.com/en/recipes/tips-and-tricks/top-tips-for-freezing-food are nonsense. Bags that are not water-tight cannot be used as suggested in tip #1 Fill 'Er Up or for marinating meats as suggested in the section of the page headed "Freezing 101."
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the new design

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the gallon size of ziploc bags to review. I like how these bags pretty much stands up when I fill them up. This will definitely come in handy when you have to separate raw meats to freeze. No more holding the bag with one hand and using the other one to try to put the meat in without touching the top zipper part. The zipper closure has always been great with this brand- no leaks

As others mentioned, these bags leak and rip along the seam, easily and often. After several issues with any liquids (even not freezing/defrosting), the bags leak on the seams. Nothing like soup or stock dripping everywhere. These needs to be redesigned or manufactured to better quality. Wasted so much time and money, have tried replacing, double bagging, nothing works. Switched to no name version at half the price and no problems.

The box for this product was not that sturdy so where it says to "open" here and tear out the top part to make a hole, it did not tear easily, but I didn't want to destroy the box before placing in my pantry. The bags themselves are of the ziploc quality that I expect from the brand, with a strong seal and nice thickness to the bag itself. It does "fold and fill" nicely as advertised on the bag, and it did stay open nicely while filling.
I would recommend this to a friend!
