Although expensive, Ziploc brand bags do a better job with freezer items than the generic brands. I really love to freeze chicken stock in them to save space!

These are some of my favorite gallon freezer bags. They are durable, have a great locking zipper, keep your food fresh, and hold a lot. I also use these bags when traveling to keep all my stuff organized in my suitcase.

These are great for storing food of all kind in the fridge and freezer. I also use them when packing for a day in theme parks or for traveling - easy for security to look thru, and I can just grab the snack bag when we get hungry. Would recommend these for sure!

I've used them for freezer storage (obviously), marinating, dry storage, even disposing of liquid leftovers that I don't want messing around in my trash bag. Given the brand name, they can be a bit pricey, but even at regular price, they're worth the purchase.
