Useful for Long Days at Your Desk

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] When I received the Brightwell Light from the Stellar Product Testing Panel I was unsure exactly how I would use it. However once I set it up at my desk I had many opportunities to see how useful it can be. Each of the 5 modes is helpful but for me 2 of them stood out. I found that the meeting mode was great for online video meetings because it reduced the shadows around me and helped the image look more clear and crisp. I hadn't realized what a difference the lighting around my desk would make for video calls. Also I appreciate the breathing mode more than I anticipated. I found that after a stressful meeting or conversation I could turn on the breathing light and it really helped me to return to a more calm state after just a few minutes of following along. The busy mode was mostly ignored by the people around me so that wasn't of great help. However in a setting where boundaries are more respected I imagine it would be very useful. Finally I appreciated that the design was minimal and unobtrusive because the last thing I need on my desk is something distracting and/or ugly. Overall I think that this light is a useful tool to add to any office space.

Great Idea needs improvements

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this office light to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I was excited to try this out and really wanted to love it but there are some issues. The look is nice and clean and the interface is easy to use. I was expecting it to be bigger. It clipped on well to my laptop but for the desktop office monitor the wire got in the way of securely hanging on. The side screen mount and the power cord are on the same side and make it difficult to put on a monitor and looks crooked. It would be better if the wire was on the opposite side or the mount could be put on both sides. There are 5 modes for this light. The meeting mode is really helpful for lighting up your face in a virtual meeting. The lighting looked really good in the camera. The focus light was soothing and pleasing to have on. The breathing light was so blue it hurt my eyes. The happy mode was nice and bright. I like that on all modes you can adjust the brightness and the warmth on a few of them. The busy signal could be useful in cubicles but if your monitor is facing the wall it would be helpful to have the mount be more versatile so you could face the busy sign facing behind you. I'm not sure if I'm more productive with the light but it does help the strain on my eyes to illuminate the room around the screen.

Conveniently sized light

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was given this office light to try as part of the Stellar Product Testing Panel. I tested this in my office at home. I love the size! I love that this plugs in with a USB-C I was able to plug it in to my monitor directly and not have the cord running all over my desk. This was small enough to sit under the end of my monitor and not be in the way of anything. Depending on the setting and the time of day I was able to move the light around to different areas of my desk to fit my needs. I did struggle to get it to attach to my laptop or my monitor that was not super intuitive unfortunately. I appreciated the different options for settings and liked the box breathing way more than I thought I would! I also really liked the warm light. There were a few meetings when the sun was hiding in the clouds and that balanced the light on my face from the monitors. Overall my favorite part was the size. This created so much convenience and ease of use. My least favorite was trying to attach it to my monitor.

Versatile Productivity Light

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got the Brightwell 5-1 Productivity Light from Stellar as part of the product testing panel and it’s actually a pretty cool and I’ve been using it daily. The focus light is great—it’s bright without being harsh and really helps me lock in when I need to. The breathing light feature is a nice touch too; I didn’t think I’d use it much but it’s surprisingly calming. The "Busy" sign and meeting light are super useful if you work in a shared space. It’s an easy way to let people know not to interrupt without having to say anything. The meeting light especially comes in handy during calls—just flip it on and everyone around you knows you’re tied up. The camera lighting is another great feature and what I tend use the most—it does a great job of reducing shadows and giving your video feed a clean balanced look. Works best when mounted behind or aligned with your camera. My only real opportunity for improvement is the mounting—it doesn’t stay fully secure. It wobbles just enough to be noticeable and I’ve had to readjust it a few times. If that part gets improved this would be an all-around win. Overall it’s a solid tool that adds a subtle but helpful structure to your day. Definitely recommended!

Much Needed Light

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This light has been so nice to have in my home office the last couple of weeks! There aren’t any windows in my office and the lighting is pretty minimal so the Brightwell Light has been a welcome change! There are several different light modes to choose from a couple of which I find useful/helpful and others that aren’t particularly useful for me personally. I’ve started to turn the light on its brightest mode (Happy Mode) when I first sit down at my computer in the morning in hopes of it helping me feel more awake and when it turns off after an hour I turn it to Meeting Mode and it stays that way the remainder of the day. Meeting Mode has helped me feel more awake and brightens my image when I’m on video calls which are two big pros for me! When you first turn the light on it defaults to Busy Mode in which the actual light doesn’t turn on but the “Busy” word lights up red. I simply tap on the Busy and it turns off. I don’t have a use for Busy Mode at home but I can see where it may come in handy for others. I’ve tested out the Focus Mode and Breathing Mode but they tend to make me feel too tired/relaxed so I haven’t used them much as a result. I find the light to be most helpful for me in its “monitor clip” setup versus the “kick-stand” setup. I like the light shining down on me instead of up at me. However the biggest downside I’ve found with this light is that it doesn’t actually clip to my monitor. My monitor and I would assume most other peoples’ monitors is too thin so the “clip” simply rests on top of my monitor and if I bump my desk or it shakes a bit too much the light falls off. I’ve tried to capture it in one of the attached photos. The only other thing I would consider changing is to make the kickstand cord and outer edges (basically everything except the light itself) black to match the black of the rest of my office equipment but that’s of course very minor and doesn’t factor negatively into my thoughts on the usefulness of the light. Overall I’ve really found this light useful and will continue to use it on a daily basis. Hopefully it holds up well with 9 hours of use 5 days a week! Thanks to the Stellar Product Testing Panel for providing me with this office light to try!

Portable light with great options

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use the Brightwell 5-in-1 productivity light at my home workstation. I spent much of my workday on video calls and find the light to do a great job in various lighting conditions. In meeting mode I appreciate the brightness and warmth functions to reduce eye strain while keeping my face well lit. Breathing mode is helpful for the few moments between meetings to pause and reduce stress before moving onto the next meeting. I really enjoy the focus mode on slow speed to help productivity. I struggled a bit with the monitor screen installation set up as it sometimes falls off so I reworked my workstation to allow me to use the kickstand setup and it works great.

Busy yet focused

The Brightwell Light has helped so much because I use it as a focus timer and as a “status indicator” for my family. If the busy light is on everyone knows that I need to be super focused so unless it’s an emergency leave me alone haha…no seriously. The focus mode is my favorite because the gentle movements of light work as a reminder to myself to stay on task. I also love the breathing mode for when I first sit down to ground myself and settle into work time. Delightful Productivity Light

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am delighted by my Brightwell Light! I received this handy light to test from the Stellar Product Testing Panel and I am so pleased with it! This productivity light mounts perfectly on my laptop or can stand independently on my desk. The “busy” setting has aided in my ability to focus when I am working in my shared office space or at home with my children present. When I have a task that needs my uninterrupted attention I can easily turn the busy light on and stay focused without feeling rude for turning people away. This has lowered my stress level when I am working on research or preparing lessons at school and at home! This little light has multiple focus modes and color settings as well as a stress reducing breathing guide! My favorite mode is the Focus Mode with a colorful rhythmic light pattern that cycles through warm and cool colors. I also love that it has a Happy Mode with a one hour countdown- this is great when tackling a project that I might be struggling with or have the temptation to postpone. The lights are dimmable and the rhythmic light has speed adjustments as well. This light is small and lightweight but very bright and efficient. It came with a Type C cord that includes a USB adapter- so handy! I can plug it into my laptop or a wall charger so it is very easy to take with me to my different workspaces. I am a teacher and I love my Brightwell light!
