REALLY DISLIKE the new scent!!!

I totally agree with the other reviewers who dislike the new scent. Have been using regular green Palmolive for quite some time and it always does a great job. When I opened the new bottle, I couldn't believe what I was smelling and wondered if it was a "bad batch" somehow. Went to the store to sniff another bottle and it was just the same....kind of like sour green apples. I loved the original scent as it reminded me of suntan lotion in a way....fragrant and summery. Someone should be getting their butt chewed out on this decision!! BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL SCENT!!! If you have to wash dishes by hand, you should be able to enjoy the scent while you're doing it!
Pros: Works great on grease

Awful new scent!

I'm so disappointed with the new scent! I bought the green bottle as usual last month but noticed the disgusting different smell right away. I check the label and saw "ultra" so I figured it was a new scent. I pitched that bottle because all I could smell was bubblegum. Bought a green bottle not label ultra but it was the same stink. I switched from dawn many years ago because it made my wash clothes stink. Now Palmolive is doing the same thing. Not only did I buy Palmolive because it cleans so well, but because the nostalgia of the smell when my mom used it growing up. Please return to the original scent!

Disappointed in the new smell

I've used Palmolive ultra strength dishwashing liquid for years. My momma used it and when I got my own place, I tried a couple of other brands but the only one I was satisfied with was Palmolive in the original scent. Like others who have written, the scent brought back fond memories for me. My mother passed almost twenty years ago and this scent in my household was a little way of keeping her memory with me on a daily basis. She used this product more than she ever wore perfume. To think that I've lost one more thing that bound our lives together makes me sad. I wish the original scent would return.

Cons: Strong Odor

EWWWW!!!! NASTY NEW SMELL

After 40+ years of being a loyal Palmolive user, you have LOST me as a customer. This is NOT "original". Like others have said -don't call it that if you are changing it - call it something else so loyal customers can be warned. Would give it zero stars if I could. It smells so gross and I cannot for the life of me figure out why you would take such a great product and utterly ruin it. I will NEVER buy another bottle until you bring the real "original" back.

I am very sensitive to odors and the reason we have used Palmolive for many years was the love for the scent of the "original" dish washing liquid. We have used it for generations in our family and now you have changed it but not for the good! The new smell is TERRIBLE!!! I can't use it any longer, it makes my dishes smell awful. I have tried other scents and have always used the green original Palmolive because we loved it but we will have to switch brands now after all these years due to this change. Please bring back the scent we all love and miss!!!!!!!!!

Palmolive Ultra Strength = Ultra disaster

The odor of the product is a clear mistake. My asthma suffering spouse can't hardly be in the same room with this detergent. To add insult to injury this detergent is dissolving my hands. They are just raw and hand lotion can't repair them. We had neither of these problems with the old version. Goodbye. By the way, did you have anybody on your test team that is sensitive to strong odors? Anybody with breathing challenges? Anybody that has to wash dishes with bare hands (because there are no gloves out there that fit their hands or have any durability; your hands just get soap on them.)? What kind of hole must their be in your testing to have this product get through?

Had to switched brands after 30 years due to bad scent

I have used Palmolive Original for 30 years, as did my Mother and Grandmother. I have always loved the scent until now. Over the last year I have not been able to find the "original" Palmolive. It has been altered and the smell is nauseating. I have now parted ways with Palmolive over this terrible smell. I use Dawn original, the smell is much better, still not as good as the Palmolive I used for 30 plus years but so much better than the new altered scent version Palmolive chose to go with. So, sadly I am no longer a valued customer to Palmolive but would switch back from Dawn to Palmolive if the original scent came back!!!
Cons: Aweful new smell, Strong Odor, Terrible "new" scent
