Fun Colors and Good Eraser

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencil with .7mm lead comes in lots of fun colors. They come in blue, yellow, orange, pink and purple, perfect for everyone in the household. My younger son has started using these pencils for his homework. He likes the colors and he says that the pencils have a really good eraser. He has a little trouble keeping the lead from breaking, but I haven't experienced this. I really like the soft, comfortable grip for your finger to rest since I tend to press quite hard.

Great pencils

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My children have been using these pencils their first few weeks of school and absolutely love them! They are easy to handle. They write very nicely and erase easily and cleanly! They are already asking to use these every year!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think that BIC® Velocity® Mechanical Pencils are worth a try. I really liked that the package of pencils comes with refills of erasers and lead. The colors are pretty, and I found it to be comfortable to hold and write with. The way the nib is designed I had less lead breakage, and I liked the cap on the end to keep the eraser from touching things and getting gummy. In order to get more lead out, you click the eraser rather than a bar on the side. I prefer this. My high school age son was less enthusiastic. He did like the eraser click function, but he did not find it to write as smoothly as he would like. He threw away the eraser cap because he thought is was annoying, and he did not find it comfortable to hold. If you are looking for a new style of pencils, I would suggest you give these a try and decide for yourself!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So we've been using these BIC Velocity Mechanical pencils like mad the past month and half, and they seriously hold up to the job! They are still providing comfort while being held by my kids, the colors are still fun and the lead is very superior. What's awesome about the pencil is the ease of holding it, and the quality of the lead. The lead hardly breaks when being used and it provides very smooth writing that is very legible. I couldn't be more happier with these pencils and plan to buy more and tell more people about them!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think these pencils are great. They write very smoothly. I haven't had an issue with putting too much pressure and having the lead snap. They feel very comfortable in my hand. My teen and tween kids like them also. Both are boys so they took the blue, yellow and orange and left me with the pink and purple ;)
I was very pleased with the erasers, since they don't seem to leave tiny "shreds" of eraser everywhere after using. They do seem to get used up pretty quickly, but the pack does come with extra erasers.
Overall I would definitely buy these again! My kids have already asked for new packs to take to school!

Still love BIC

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] While I was growing up I always used BIC mechanical pencils in high school and college. I love that they are still around and still #2 so they can be used on state tests and whatnot. I also like how this comes with extra lead. I remember having to buy it separately. It seems like kids are writing less and less in school these days, so I'm imagine this pack lasting for quite a while (unless they get lost).
The reason I don't care for this specific BIC mechanical pencil is that they are a little bulkier. I always preferred the black or clear ones that were slimmer. I also don't understand why there's a cap on the eraser. I can't remember if BIC did this 10-15 years ago, of if I was using another brand, but the cap always fell off or got lost, which is why I'd prefer for there not to be a cap at all.
Overall, I'm pleased with these and would recommend them to anyone, but would personally still use the slimmer style.

Easy to use

The writing is smooth and good for homework. I just wish it was easier to advance the lead, as it takes a bit of time when doing homework.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I thought they were very nice pencils but my teenage kids used them and said they broke too easily. They have been using a different brand for a few years and said they prefer to stick to those.
