My go to pencils!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] BIC definitely knows how to make a great, durable product with the BIC Velocity #2 Mechanical pencils! First of all the packaging is inviting. With 5 bright colors (blue, yellow, orange, pink & purple), extra erasers (in a tube) and extra lead (in a tube) it catches your eye. These mechanical pencils have an attached eraser, eraser cap, plastic grip, metal tip (where lead appears), easy access to refill lead and the tip of the pencil unscrews if the lead gets stuck. This is the smoothest, darkest writing mechanical pencil. It erases cleanly (no smudges & doesn't leave any eraser particles behind). The pencil is extremely durable & comfortable to hold (not thin and cheap like other brands). The plastic finger grip is nice but I personally would prefer an even softer finger grip. One great feature is the metal (NOT PLASTIC) tip where the lead comes out! My 10 year old has gotten very frustrated with mechanical pencils because he complains the lead always breaks or it's uncomfortable to use. He LOVES these BIC Velocity mechanical pencils though! He hasn't broken lead and hasn't complained once about his hand cramping or hurting. Making a side-by-side comparison I notice that the BIC Velocity mechanical pencils are thicker, have a plastic finger grip and have a metal tip where the lead comes out. BIC Velocity mechanical pencils are the only brand for our household!
These pencils are built to last! I have dropped them countless times and they come away working perfectly. Other brands that I have used have cracked upon dropping or the plastic tip where the lead comes out has broken off. To add lead is super easy: remove the eraser cap, pull out the eraser, drop in the lead! Also the tip of the pencil just below the finger grip unscrews in case the lead gets stuck (though this hasn't happened to me). If I had to find a slight negative, I don't really understand the need for an eraser cap because it's clear & can get lost easily. Regardless, BIC Velocity mechanical pencils are a great product and the only pencils I'll be sending to school with my kids. I'll be spreading the word to friends and family going out to buy school supplies!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So first of all i was curious i don't like mechanical pencil first of all because lead breaks of easily and i jave to keep buying some. I was really surprise how well the lead held up awsome strong smooth lead dark too. It erase good to the point where i couldn't see where i had erased. My kid's love the color's but the best part about is the sat down and wrote for no reason at all if my kid's like it then momma loves it.

Back to school with Cool

The super-smooth lead makes everything a tiny bit easier and the extra lead and erasers that come in the package will be handy as school days roll on. We just started back yesterday so our BIC Velocity pencils will get a workout over the next few months! Can't wait to see if the durability holds up to the style (I believe it will, BIC products are great quality)!!!

Colorful and durable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] BIC again has proven why they are the best pencil and pen maker. The new velocity mechanical pencils are not only colorful but very durable as well. The tone of the lead is much darker on paper then any other mechanical pencil we have used. It also erases very well. The lead comes off easily and more cleaner, leaving none on the paper. The lead is also stronger which has caused less breaks then usually occur with mechanical pencils. All of these reasons are why my family is going to make it an must have school supply this year.

Great Pencil, smooth writing!

I have had him try these for some of his summer assignments and he loves them! He has requested that I keep all my samples for him ( I will just buy him some extras! )

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Got these pencils right before I had a class start. They are easy to use and write well. They have a nice comfort grip that makes holding the pencil easy. They come in fun colors and the eraser is good. I wish there was more eraser though.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We're big fans of mechanical pencils, and I honestly don't remember the last time my children asked me to buy those plain, boring yellow #2 pencils. When my boys tore into my package of BIC Velocity mechanical pencils, they immediately put them to use. As a parent, I love that these pencils are convenient to use and don't require sharpening. I also love that they're ready to go right out of the package. The boys remarked several times about the smooth tips and how they seemed to glide over the paper they were drawing on. The barrels are very easy to grip and the lead is thick and dark, so whatever you write or draw comes out clear and vivid. Erasing didn't create a mess either, like it does with regular pencils, and that is a huge plus. The package comes in a wide assortment of fun colors, so you can easily pick and choose a different color for every day of the week, and these colors are suitable for both boys AND girls. The container that houses the lead refills is sturdy and holds up much better in my son's crowded backpack than the flimsy breakable containers that so often come with other brands of mechanical pencils. After sampling the Velocity variety, I'm positive our family of four will never settle for boring yellow #2 pencils ever again. Kudos to BIC for another wonderful product!
