The drawers don’t open far enough to get to the files in the back of the drawer if the drawer is full. I’m guessing it’s to keep the cabinet from tipping over because it’s not as heavy as my old one. You lose the use of a portion of each drawer this way. I’m using it for supplies. Otherwise I’m happy.
Strong enough to deter the common burglar from having access to its contents but if someone were seriously intent on steeling the contents a crowbar or the kind of tool for cutting locks in half would tear the metal enough.
This filing cabinet is just what I wanted for all of my personal paperwork. The drawers glide nicely and the handles were quick easy to install. The only thing I don’t care for is the handles sit low on the drawers. I would have preferred them to be higher so I wouldn’t have to bend so far (bad back) but doesn’t bother me enough to return it. I am happy with my purchase and considering getting another.
The first delivery arrived with rippled cardboard on the box and a dent to the top edge of the cabinet. I took it to a local Staples store and they replaced it. When I got it out of the box it is very thin tinny metal it doesn't sit level and the key was missing. I was disapointed.
This was my second purchase of this file cabinet. One for my office and one for my husbands. The color is dark enough to blend in with my black desk. The small drawer is perfect for pencils and paper. The best part is that it makes a great printer stand too. Everything is right at hand--my files and my printer. I suppose if one was picky they could find fault but it is perfect for my needs.
