I’ve only had the power mop for a few days. I found it very easy to set up. However, I agree with other reviews that the cleaning solution is way too strong. My husband started getting a headache and coughing when he came in the house. We are more used to something like Mr. Clean or something unscented. I know I can spray my own cleaner on the floor, but that defeats the purpose and ease of cleaning with the sprayer. May give this to a friend to try. I read somewhere that you could try to dilute the original cleaning solution, but will have to figure out how to do that.

Donna, firstly, thank you so much for giving our PowerMop a try. We're very sorry that you and your husband found the scent to be too strong and that your husband started having these experieinces, and we hope he's doing better. While scent preferences and perceptions will vary from person to person, and with our quality and safety checks, we never expect this to happen when using our PowerMop as directed. Because of this, and because we never want you to modify the solution, and to use as-is, we ask that you please discontinue using it. We'd like to connect with your husband about this, make a detailed report to our Quality and Safety Team, and help. Please have him call us at (800) 742-9220.

I have only had the mop for less then 60 days and it will not spray out. I have replaced batteries and it is still not working. I had my old swiffer mop for years and not a problem.

Horrible handle design

I was so excited when this product came out and I even waited a bit before buying it to see how it worked. Saw nothing but fantastic reviews so I had high hopes. Regretted buying it after the first use. I put the product together according to the instructions and went to use it the first time and the very top piece of the handle will NOT stay clicked into the rest of the handle. Everytime I use it I am constantly having to make sure I don’t push or pull too quickly or hard or it will just pop apart and then I have to shove the wires back in and try to re-snap it together. I’m about to duct tape it because it is driving me nuts. I checked to make sure the snap wasn’t broken and it’s not. It just doesn’t stick out as far as the one on the bottom of the handles stick towards the head of the mop. Good idea to maybe fit that for future ones if you haven’t already and if it didn’t actually clean my floors I would have thrown it away already. So many regrets because I can’t use it the way I want to.

Cheaply made. Failed within 2 months of normal use

Stopped working conveniently just after the 30 day money back guarantee expired. Replaced the batteries, checked for clogs. Spraying motor not responding for no reason. Clearly cheaply made and will die before you get your money’s worth.

Disappointing Quality and Premature Failure
on September 24, 2025

I purchased this mop for my home, which has all hard floors, and was immediately disappointed with the performance and quality. From the very first use, the mop pads did not properly attach to the base, forcing me to use rubber bands to hold them in place.
The most significant issue, however, occurred after only three total uses. The spray nozzles completely stopped working. While one side had previously clogged and was temporarily fixed, the entire spray mechanism is now inoperable. I've tried changing the batteries, ensuring the solution cartridge is properly attached, and checking for obstructions, but the unit is simply broken.
This has been a very frustrating and disappointing purchase. I now have useless replacement pads and solution cartridges, as the primary unit has failed so quickly. I have always trusted Swiffer products in the past, which makes this poor experience even more surprising. Given the price and the fact that the unit essentially only provided one full use before failing, I absolutely cannot recommend this product.

Thanks so much for reaching out. We're very sorry to hear that this has been your experience, as this is not something that we would expect. All of our products go through strict quality checks to ensure that they perform perfectly in your home every time. We're very sorry that was not your experience this time. We would like to try some troubleshooting tips with you, aside from what you've already tried.
-Double-check to make sure all the pieces of the pole have snapped together properly during assembly. -Check the solution bottle to make sure that it's clicked into place and that it’s not empty. -If it’s empty, replace the solution bottle. -Your Swiffer PowerMop may need priming. Hold the button on the handle for several seconds until spray comes out of the nozzles. You may need to squeeze the solution bottle gently while pressing the spraying button. -The nozzles could be clogged. Brushing them gently might help them to start spraying. -Only use PowerMop solution with the device. Do not open the PowerMop bottle and refill with other solutions. This could permanently damage the device and cause it to stop working. -If the Swiffer PowerMop is brand new, make sure the you removed the thin piece of cardboard packing in the solution bottle housing.
Nonetheless, we would like to learn more about your experience and determine how we can help. When you have a chance, give us a call at 800-742-9220

The absolute worst design ever. The button that holds the handle together is crap. It keeps pulling apart. The engineer that designed this needs to be fired. I was a mechanical designer my whole career, and I would not have a job in the field if I designed that.
