Good writing instrument, not so great eraser

Although I don't require a specific kind of my students, I do personally like mechanical pencils over regular lead pencils. I found that the BIG Velocity writes really well! The lead is strong and durable. I can write legibly and the lead also doesn't run or smear like some lead. However, the eraser does not completely erase my many math errors. I have to still use a personal eraser to clean up my mistakes.

My daughter said that they write really well and have a comfortable grip. She liked how easy they were to flip from writing to erasing. Also that they have the easiest process to get more lead. Meaning that the button is not awkwardly placed out of reach. I think we found our go to mechanical pencil.

Makes writing fun!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I generally use pens because of their smoothness and less pressure to place on them to write, but after receiving the BIC Velocity pencils to try for free I have changed my viewpoint! They click easily and write smoothly with minimal effort. Make a mistake? Erase it! No more scratch outs or write overs. I think the problem with traditional pencils is I push harder on the paper so if I make a mistake and erase I can still see it's ghost and have to push harder to get my word to go over it. Since I don't have to push down hard with these that problem is solved. These pencils are good for every day use or for kiddos going back to school. Love these pencils and the color variations!

Love the mechanical pencils. the different colors, the extra refillable lead and erasers makes it worth your money. This new mechanical pencil is in time for your back to school. My son cannot wait to use these pencils. They have a soft rubber grip which make it more comfortable and better control when you writing. They don't feel cheep and light when you use them. The lead write smooth and it doesn't break real easy. The erasers do erase without smudging and tearing the paper. #BICVelocity #GotItFree

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Smooth writing and extra erasers? Yes please! We love the strong lead that didn't break even with a 7 yr old. The cool colors made this a pencil that we fought over to have in our backpacks. These mechanical pencils make writing easy and fun--just the encouragement the kids need. Great grouping of not only 5 pencils but also lead and eraser refills. Why doesn't everyone do that? The only negative is that there are only 5 pencils in a pack. Guess we'll just have to buy more packs!

They work great to stash in my bag without losing the eraser or marking up the inside of my purse. The only con of these is that I can see kids losing the cap to the eraser.
