Mechanical Pencil that doesn't Break?!?

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The more I use BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils, the more I love them. I am a teacher and a mother of two boys - we go through pencils a lot. And mechanical pencils have always been frustrating because they break so easily - both the plastic and the pencil lead itself. Plus erasing is always a pain. But these mechanical pencils are different. They are sturdy, write smoothly, erase cleanly and best of all - the lead doesn't break off like in other mechanical pencils. We love these pencils. And the colors are awesome. I like the pink and purple while my sons like the red, blue and yellow. Each pack of five comes with extra lead AND extra erasers. I don't think we'll buy another brand of pencil again - we've found a winner!

They were very durable, compared to the less expensive mechanical pencils we have used in the past. The bright colors were fun. Most pencils are black so it was a nice change for back to school.

I home school my boys and plan on putting these pencils to good use first thing in the morning. The bright, fun colors make them visually stimulating as well as functional. As soon as we got the BzzKit in the mail she opened it up and pulled out the pencils. She opened the package and started trying out all of the pencils. She thought they all wrote very well, and really liked having the spare lead case and erasers as well. She will be taking these to school and trying them out there too!

Love the Velocity Pencils

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Day one, opening the package, my 12-year-old daughter took one out, wrote with it for a few minutes, then promptly started stealing all the good colors! Then I took them along to a weekend with my friends and they decided that they're 'good enough to steal', meaning if you borrow it to use for a second you would probably walk away with it! I guess I need to keep mine on a string when I go back to school in a few weeks. I love how dark they write, unlike many mechanical pencils that are so light you can barely read it. The grip fits my hand just right, very comfortable. Having a cover on the eraser is a great idea. I find lots of these erasers lying around my classroom, hopefully that will help hold them in better. My only suggestion would be to make the eraser longer but I like that extras are included.
