Their eyes may have been at first to the colors, but they soon were very happy writing with them. For me, most other mechanical pencils lead would always break while writing and seemed cheaply made. But BIC Velocity pencils are sturdy, write smoothly, and are comfortable in your hand with the rubber grip. My teen daughter also loves them and has insisted I stock up on them for her school year. She loves the bright colors, how well they write and erase, and says the lead is easy to advance. I love that for such a small price I can get such an awesome pencil with extra erasers and lead without breaking the bank. I would absolutely recommend these for anyone who writes! What he loved the most was the addition of the extra lead/erasers included in his pack. He was constantly running out of erasers & lead in the mechanical pencils we purchased previously. The pencils are also an array of colors and fit well into his hands. You'll certainly get more bang for your buck with this product because they'll last longer than competing brands.

My boys would much rather have something fun and exciting then a boring old mechanical pencil. When I put these bright colored BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils in their pencils boxes they lit up with excitement. These pencils are not only pretty, they work so well. Kids can be rough and this lead stands the test. It's very strong and didn't break like typical mechanical pencils which means the lead will last a long time. I love knowing something that seems simple will make my boys want to write more each day!
