However, BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils have converted me. I loved how they wrote, the lead was dark and the writing was very clear. I was impressed and that does not happen very often. I had my children use them and according to them, they liked them because, I always have a sharp pencil now.""

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My son has been using these pencils to work in his summer workbooks. He has absolutely loved them so far! He tends to go through erasers pretty quickly, which has been an issue for other mechanical pencils that only have a small eraser. With these, I can at least replace the eraser and continue to use the pencil! I, personally, like to use mechanical pencils far more than a regular pencil because you don't need to sharpen it all the time. We will be purchasing these in the future.

My son Evan used them daily for his Algebra 2 summer course, and really liked them. They are comfortable in his hand, and write well...without a hitch for my left-hander! They come in cool colors, and my kids both love that they're refillable! And the fact that they erase so cleanly made homework that much easier!

My kids only use mechanical pencils (they don't like the sound wood pencils make) and sometimes we have found that the lead squeaks in some mechanical pencils. Not THESE! My boys are so pleased with their BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils. They're also sturdier than most mechanical pencils and feel good in their hand.
