Right out of the starting gate a package of these comes with extra erasers and lead - must haves when you're using a mechanical pencil. They are sturdy and come in bright, happy colors. The lead is tough and doesn't break easily the way I've seen with other brands of mechanical pencils. They write smoothly and don't get that occasional nails on a chalkboard" squeak to them the way others sometimes do when writing. All in all

My oldest likes the way they write, because she just wrote a 500 word essay. My youngest loves the cool colors. He has a certain color for each day of the week!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the way the pencils feel, they are a good weight and sit in the hand nicely. The lead writes clearly and does not drag on the paper. Mistakes are easily cleared with the eraser. However the mechanics of advancing the lead seems touchy. I have had to take the pencils apart numerous times to clean out jammed lead. It does not always advance the lead even after several clicks also occasionally. Overall nice but some flaws.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I actually like the grip on this pencil. The hard rubber grip is close to the ideal thickness for me for a pencil of this nature. It doesn?t slip and isn?t too narrow. The overall construction is solid, and it feels like it won?t break in your hand. Writing is fine. The lead is standard. It doesn?t break much, goes on smoothly enough and dark enough for school or office work. Overall, the Velocity is fine. It isn?t the best mechanical pencil ever, and it has no real features, but it?s solidly and relatively comfortably built. It is fairly inexpensive and comes with enough refills of erasers and lead to last the user for some time. As far as inexpensive options go for mechanical pencils, it?s a good one, but there?s nothing special about it.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I really liked the Velocity pens, so I was glad to give the Velocity pencils a try. They write smoothly, and are easy to refill. The different color choices make it easier for the kids to use their own pencil, also, so there is less fighting about who has their own pencil. The clicker is available on the side for some, but on the ones I received, it was at the top. The package I received also came with refills for the lead and the erasers, which is great, because the erasers always get used to death.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I noticed right away that the BICÆ VelocityÆ Mechanical Pencil is comfortable to write with. The grips make it easy to hold and allow for lots of writing before your hand starts to cramp. It feels more like you are writing with a pen than a pencil. My 7th grader is very happy with her new pencils and has requested more.
