Before I had the opportunity to try these I imagine that they were the same as all the others on the market. However, My children absolutely loved them. They come in great vibrant colors, thick enough for little fingers, and most importantly they didn't break every few minutes. Other brands made my children frustrated. Watch out world!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I use pencils daily in my job. I prefer mechanical pencils, always have, but have always hates how easily the lead breaks from being so thin. Plus the pencil itself makes my had ache after sometime from being thin also. BIC Velocity to the rescue! The pencil itself is thicker, pretty much it's styled just like a BIC ballpoint clicky pen. The lead in the pencil is 0.7mm, so it is thicker and much harder to break, but no needs to worry because it comes with lead refills! The eraser does not smudge and cleanly erases. The colors are bright and fun. I don't want to share these with my 10 year old.

My kids love to write with them from doing schoolwork, to doodling out pictures, writing short stories, etc. The pencils are smooth and colorful. You can't go wrong with the Bic Velocity Mechanical Pencil.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I gave a pack for my step son to take to school with him, though I am in college, I used the pencil several times during my summer courses. the pencil works exceptionally well. though the led is a little thick I like more of a .5 but I still enjoyed using the pencil, it gets the task done. I loved the bright selections of colors they had. The eraser worked very well as well, it didn't leave any smudges like some others do. I have been a big fan of Bic for a long time and its great to see them still expanding on selections of their products. I also had the pleasure of sharing a few of these pencils with class mates. you'd be surprised on how many people show up to class with no writing utensils. so I gladly shared mine and received some feed back that they really liked the pencils, and of course being generous I told them to keep it and get some use out of it. they said they liked the grip it didn't leave there fingers sore like some others do, which I have to agree the grip was nice I am a pretty hard writer and some times my middle finger gets pretty sore, but surprisingly even after a 3 hour lecture of writing my finger wasn't sore! I think this product of bics stands out and is something I would recommend for other school students to use. Actually I have been seeing these everywhere and even got some shots of the displays at my college book shop! they have some catchy advertisement! and their prices are very reasonable!
