[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids have always preferred mechanical pencils for school. In the past I would choose the Bic 24 pack and make them last all year. I have one child that insists on the more expensive mechanical pencils. She loved the Bic Velocity pencils. The lead didn't break easily and the eraser is great. I don't really think there needs to be a plastic cap on the eraser. It will be easily lost which is really no big deal. We loved the colors and the pencil grip. This is one pencil that I wouldn't mind paying more for.

Summer homework packets

He used the pencil first in case of any mistakes and traced with a marker. This pencil wrote so smoothly and was so easy to erase without any eraser residue. The same applies for his other summer assignments especially the math where some erasing was needed a bit. Other pencils erasers leave the eraser rubber smudge sometimes that we both hate. He hates having to do work in the summer but it sure made it easier.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Every year I buy close to a hundred mechanical pencils at back to school time because I have five school aged kids...that's a lot of pencils. This year I saved the BIC Velocity pencils for the beginning of school and told them to not loose them. Guess what? They STILL have the same two pencils I gave them each to try out because they LOVE these pencils. When someone wants to borrow a pencil they simply say no. I'm not even kidding. I don't think a product can get a better endorsement than that.

He said that the rubber grip on the pencil is MUCH more comfortable to write with compared to the regular BIC mechanical pencils. He also said that it seems so write darker and smoother. Another pro was that it looks more like a pen. The only con he had was that the erasers are not too great and that they leave gray smudges on his worksheets (especially algebra). We would highly recommend these pencils. We received them free from BIC for our honest review.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My kids really enjoy writing with the BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils! Doing homework, taking notes in class, sketching, drawing - everything becomes more fun with these pencils. My kids love how well they write, the lead writes dark and smooth, and to me it feels almost like writing in pen. The erasers work very well and erase big or small mistakes with ease, without being too harsh on the paper, or leaving too much little eraser crumbs behind on the paper. I like that the lead of the pencils is much stronger than other mechanical pencils, so it won't break easily. I tested this with my young 2nd grade son who was able to do his homework with this pencil without the lead breaking off! Success! I usually let only my two older daughters use mechanical pencils, but these BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils are made so well that they will last a long time, because they are sturdy, plus they have strong lead that doesn't break easily. The package also comes with 5 replacement erasers and 12 leads! A very valuable set to buy, in my opinion! We also love that the erasers of each pencil have a small, clear cap on them to protect the erasers, and to actually protect from clicking the pencil accidentally while it's in the pencil case or backpack. Great idea from BIC! No other brand thought about this. Last but not least, the color selection in the package is awesome! The 5-pack of pencils comes with one of each color: blue, yellow, orange, pink, and purple. Each child is sure to find a color they'll love. The colors are bright and vibrant. I love the bright yellow and pink, they make my day a little brighter when I have to write my grocery shopping lists or take other notes. My kids love the blue, pink, and purple the most. Each pencil has a soft, rubbery grip, which makes writing comfortable, even for longer essays. My oldest daughter was especially impressed by how comfortable this pencil feels to write with, because she usually developed blisters and calluses on her finger from other mechanical pencil brands. What is another great feature is that the lead is actually retractable, so you're not forced to break off excess lead if you accidentally clicked it to come out too much. These mechanical pencils are #2 HB, 0.7 mm, and are perfect for standardized tests! I highly recommend these to everyone, and will be getting more!
