Each kid gets certain colors so no blaming game if they are misplaced. It has strong led that writes smooth. My kids prefer mechanical and these have done well so far. They last about as long as a typical mechanical pencil but with the strong led there is less breakage. That also means purchasing led less often. All the way around, happy kids means happy mom.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We received the BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils in the mail and my 8 year old son immediately decided to write to a good buddy who moved away. He loved the bright colors and the lead held up to his writing pressure. The lead is thick enough to keep from easily breaking and not pushing through the paper while thin enough to make a neat line for letter formation. I especially enjoy the continuous sharp point of a mechanical pencil and find myself reaching for them to write my grocery lists instead of a pen. We are enjoying the ability to share extra pencils and coupons with friends who are buying school supplies. We appreciate receiving these pencils for free to try in exchange for our review on Bzzagent. We will definitely seek these pencils out.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I think these are probably the BEST mechanical pencils I have used in a LONG time! First, I am a pencil snob! I love the way these feel -- they have a very comfortable grip. They write very smooth. I have used these for several weeks without the lead breaking in the pencil. I have tried other brands only to have the led break within the pencil and then you end up throwing the led away because it keeps breaking. If you make a mistake- it erases easily. These are wonderful pencils. I bought a pack for each of my boys to start school this year-- and they too-- rave about these pencils! Thank you BzzAgent for letting me try these amazing pencils for Free!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I waited until my teenager started back to school to help me out with the review because he has always preferred mecanical pencils over the #2 ones. After his first day of school he let me know that he would use these for the rest of his school years. My son could not believe that this was actually a pencil, from the click on top to the eraser on the bottom it was perfect. He loved how easily he could hold the pencil and how the lead did not break once he started writing.The tip looked like a pen and wrote as smoothly as one. His teacher said he would be able to take standardized tests with it because the lead was dark enough. He also noticed how the lead lasted longer because it was thicker and did not break as soon as the lead. touched the paper. This mechanical pencil gets an A+

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thanks to BzzAgent and BIC, I was able to try out these Velocity Mechanical Pencils for free. When you first pick it up, it feels very comfortable - I keep thinking that I picked up a pen instead of a pencil! It is very easy to use and the lead does not break as easily as other mechanical pencils I have used. So far, I am very happy with these pencils. The only reason I did not give it 5 stars is because there are times when I need a pencil with a very sharp point, and this is not as sharp as a regular pencil, but overall, I am very happy with these!
