The youngest loves the erasers (normally they are worn down well before the pencil) and the middle child enjoys the smooth, dark lead and the cushioned grip. I love that they grab the pencils and draw for long minutes. I've had to purchase more to keep them happy. I think these pencils are a win all around.

Smooth Writing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received #BICVelocity to sample and review. I let my students use these pencils while they wok in my classroom. They love the different colors that are available. I appreciate the fact that time isn't wasted when someone's pencil tip breaks. They just have to click the eraser to receive more lead. I personally like how smooth the eraser is. The pack also came with extra lead AND extra erasers, that's was a huge bonus. Erasers are usually the first thing to go, and I've had students throw out their pencils before just because their eraser is gone. I am glad my students were able to try these out. These pencils would make great school supplies because I know most kids would rather use mechanical pencils anyway.

I used to use cheap mechanical pencils, where the lead just slid through the openings. When I'm writing with the BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils, I sometimes forget it's a pencil lol.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These mechanical pencils are amazing. Not only are they comfortable to grip but the lead and erasers are perfect! I am able to write and draw so smoothly with it and I don't have to put too much pressure on it to get the darkness I want. The eraser, erases errors smoothly and cleanly. They come in an assortment of colors and extra erasers and lead. The best part, there is no need for a sharpener. Just pop in a new lead and your ready to go. Pressing down the lead is easy and doesn't stick. I would recommend it to all students and anyone who needs to use a good pencil. #BICVelocity #GotItFree

Secondly they write very well without snapping off which is why we usually don't prefer mechanical. My daughter loves them I will be buying more.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Kudos to BIC for making a refillable mechanical pencil that's affordable. I've always felt wasteful having my kids throw away so much plastic, so I'd like to see if we can make the transition back to these and away from the cheap throw away versions. Now, for the Mommy Challenge of keeping track of these pencils or finding some other way to mark them and make them stand out from the others so that I can track when they're empty and when they need refilling. Looking forward to this new challenge and trying to reduce our school garbage.
