We were able to try the new BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils as a promotion from BIC and Bzz Agent. We have used other BIC mechanical pencils in the past, and after trying the BIC Velocity we wont be switching back anytime soon BIC mechanical Pencils are ranked number 1 These pencils have a soft rubber grip to help your children get through their workday without sore hands. These pencils are made with hard lead that erases cleanly Just another win for BIC Velocity.

Sturdy, smooth, stylish

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received my Bic Velocity pencils and was overjoyed to see how stylish they looked even in the package. Upon opening the package, I was also pleased when I put the first pencil into my hand. The pencil was very sturdy. Many times mechanical pencils feel thin and cheap, but this is not the case with the Velocity. I really like the look of the pencils, they almost look like pens, and I love the vibrant, exciting colors. I clicked the lead out so that I could write with it and I was pleased that just a click or to provided the perfect length lead with which to write. The lead was smooth on the page and did not squeak or stick on the page like many other brands of pencils do. I decided to give erasing a try and I love the fact that the eraser comes with its own little cover over it. Now, I come to the only thing about these pencils that I don't like and that is the eraser. The eraser is a bit small, but it works efficiently. The problem I find is that it is impossible to use the eraser without clicking the end and consequently dispensing more lead! That is frustrating. It is an easily fixed problem, but one that I found to be quite annoying. Overall, I think these Bic Velocity pencils are top notch and I would recommend them for back to school or any other pencil use.

I had my three oldest children give them a try. They all thought they wrote fine, but also didn't notice a difference between the new pencil and the old ones we have. I am certain this pencil will not make anyone more excited about writing in this house, but they are comfortable to use and erase well.

My 6th grader would rather have mechanical pencils rather than the standard #2 that you have to sharpen, so I gave him the BIC Velocity Mechanical Pencils since school was starting. He loves them. I gave him 2 of these mechanical pencils and 2 generic mechanical pencils, and he says that these are more comfortable than the others when he writes.
