You can't complain at this price. I needed additional space for my out of date records. The legal size files just fit if put in sideways. The cabinet came without a set of keys but customer service quickly responded and the manufacturer promptly mailed me a set within the week.
Met my needs and got a great price for this particular color/design. It seems like it will last awhile and the lock feature is just an addeded bonus. When buying I bought 2 as I thought only the bottom drawer locked and I wanted to put crayons in markers in them out of reach from my toddler who can get into most everything else. Both drawers actually locked when you lock the bottom one into place for anyone who may be looking for only one drawer to lock at a time or may be in my similar situation and looking for something that will lock both at once.
File cabinet is more of a stylish type. The material is NOT heavy at all. I was able to lift on my own with out hesitation (female 5" 3' 130lbs.) It does come with keys and a lock to keep private but i am not sure how reliable it would be. It is not one of those heavy duty metal kind of cabinets. If you are looking for an extremely confidential file cabinet i would opt out of this one. If it is for your everyday docs then i would definitely recommend.
Was in the market for a new file cabinet. My old 20 year old one was falling apart. One of drawers sliding rack fell apart. I had a tough time opening the drawer. Took me a half hour to get it open with a large screw driver and a hammer. Any way I went to my near by Staples store and low and behold they one on sale. Just what I needed a 3 drawer metal file cabnet at a very fair price. Staples to the rescue. I ve been shopping at this Staples store since they opened. The checkout lady was very helpful to me and I told so. Thank Staples.
It was a tough search for a basic inexpensive file cabinet that would fit underneath my L-shaped desk as most were taller than the 26" clearance that was available. The small footprint of this fine piece also kept it from interfering with my desk chair while I work yet remained conveniently accessible only a chair-turn away. The drawers open smoothly. The only drawback of this cabinet is that it is so light that until it is filled the entire cabinet may slide forward when a drawer is opened depending on the surface that it is sitting on. Mine is a bare smooth floor.
The filing cabinet looked very nice. However it was not made to hold heavy loads. The sheet metal is lightly build. It's very light in weight so it was easy to bring home. Great for simple file storage. The lock is a plus along with the top drawer that also locks.
When I got it and Found Really so little to assemble I thought GREAT But the SCREWS to ATTACH the HANDLE to THE DRAWERS are so TINY that I have spent over 3 hrs just TRYING to get them to STAY in the hole so I could tighten them and be finished. I still have no handles attached so I am really not to Thrilled. Let me explaine I am a small woman without LARGE Hands So my question is How to Larger People get those ity Bitty screws attached without losing your MINDS. Ghat's the Million Dollar Question. I guess I need NOW to go to the Hardware Store and BUTY two MORE LONGER SCREWS. Price was Great Box was great as it fit a Chair I was sending to my Gr Grandsons and had not been able to find. Just alot of packing materisl to keep it from moving.
