Remember those grey file cabinets from WWII? You know the bomb proof ones? This IS NOT one of those. That said there is NOTHING wrong with this file cabinet. The drawers open and close quite smoothly. Overall fit and finish is really good. The inside bottom of the drawers is NOT totally flat as there are ridges in the metal bottom to provide additional stiffness. That does not impair the usability or functionality of this cabinet in any way. I would recommend this file cabinet and I would buy it again if I had need to.

It would have been better if all 3 drawers locked but satisfied with the top 2 locking. The handles were easy to put on but be careful of some sharp edges on the inside when attaching the handles.

Handles and screws come separate for you to put together some of the screws seemed stripped and hard to put together with handles on the cabinet. Some of the handles are loose and wobbly due to bad screws. Otherwise it is a perfectly good file cabinet

Keep looking. The drawers are flimsy and come completely off track every time you open or close them. Bottom drawer failed after 3 months and middle drawer failed after 10 months. Neither was filled beyond halfway due in part to the drawers not pulling out all the way. I liked that it fit so well under my desk and had a small upper drawer for supplies but it is totally useless for the intended purpose after less than one year.

This piece is just what I needed. The size is perfect. The hanging system is just right. The only negative is that the balance is off. When I open the top drawer which is more fully loaded the whole unit tips forward. Easy to fix -load up more stuff in the bottom !
