I want to like these bags, but they are so frustrating. The stand to fill is nice, and they are a decent quality, except for the zipper. I haven't had one yet where the zipper actually stayed on and worked correctly. It's awful! What's the point of a ziplock if it doesn't zip? I've been really disappointed with these.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I think I just got a faulty production run

We use the Large Ziploc Slider to freeze meats mostly in portions that are large enough for me and my wife. The box I just opened has a quality control issue in that the clear plastic is separating from the blue plastic that holds the white plastic slider. This happened to the first three I removed from the box. Consequently there is no way to seal the bag. I'd be happy to ship them back to SC Johnson if that would help you identify the problem.

I began using Ziplock Bags forever! A couple of years ago my 80+ mother started having trouble using the original seal, due to declining eyesight and arthritis in her hands. I switched to the Sliders and she does well with those. Unfortunately, I have developed the same hand pain as her, so the Sliders are helping me, too! I also wanted to respond to those who have experienced the sliding mechanism failure--are too sure you aren't over-filling your bags? The bags aren't supposed to stretch, so spring for a second bag and split the load. Also, I prefer the freezer bags for everything die to the thicker plastic. Just a few thoughts...
