Softsoap ruined a great product.

We have used this product for close for years before they reformulated it. I bought four big refill bottles from the store, not seeing the new scent and was greatly disappointed after realizing my mistake. The new scent is so strong and unpleasant that it gives me headaches. I've also noticed that the skin on my hands is dryer after only a few uses. I loved the old formula so much because the scent wasn't offensive and it didn't dry out my skin. After only two days I am realizing that three of the unopened bottles I bought are going back and it looks like I'm going to have to find another product. Why fix something that wasn't broken? Especially in a market that is already over saturated with overly scented and/or skin drying products.
Cons: Dries Skin, Overpowering scent., Unpleasant Smell

I will add my voice to the chorus of how bad the new scent is. It smells like something Bath & Body Works would have sold in the 90s. I love this soap but will have to stop using it. So disappointing. My only hope that is that Softsoap will react to the backlash and revert to the original scent. Soon. To the customer service agent who may respond to my comment: while I appreciate your offer to find something else, please just bring back the old scent.

Why did you change the smell?!

This was the standard soap in our house for a very long time, but we just bought the repackaged "new fragrance" for the first time and the smell is SO STRONG. If I wanted a perfumed soap, I'd buy that. I want a neutral soap that isn't drying, which is what the old version of this was. Please bring it back. If you love this smell so much please make it a different name because nothing about this is "clean" or "aloe vera." It's very perfumey/floraly.

Go back to the old fragrance!

Echoing what other reviewers have said, this new fragrance and new formulation is no good! While I don't get migraines from fragrances or have perfume allergies, strong fragrances do bother me and give me slight headaches. It can be hard to find affordable, fragrance-free mainstream products, but I was so pleased with the old formulation because the fragrance was subtle enough that it didn't bother me. This new scent is sharp, lingers on my hands, and the soap dries out my skin. Unfortunately, all of Softsoap's other scents are even stronger than this one, so it looks like I'll be searching for a new brand!

Was a Fan, NOT anymore!

Have been buying this for so long I can't even remember not using it. Imagine my surprise when I open a new refill bottle, with the EXACT same label on it as the old one, and it smells totally different! And NOT in a good way! I thought it was just a mistake so I took it back to the store, and purchased another, now with a different label, but with the same description of the scent as the original. And to my utmost disappointment again, it has the same god awful fruity scent!!! Now to return this new bottle and look for another product that does not have such a strong, appalling scent. It is quite nauseating! Gives both me and my son a headache.
If you are going to change the scent of a product, at least make note of it on the bottle! How can it be called the same "Aloe Vera Fresh Scent" when it isn't???
I also agree with some of the other reviewers, in that it used to be a hydrating soap, but isn't anymore.

PLEASE BRING BACK THE ORIGINAL!!!
The old version was the only one I could use on my sensitive skin and would even take it with me on trips. This new version with the horrible fragrance immediately irritated my hands. Please tell the R&D team to stop reformulating and cheapening products that already work! Great way to lose loyal customers!

For years this has been the only liquid soap I have bought because it did not have an overwhelming scent and it was gentle on my skin. Now the ingredients have been almost completely overhauled and my hands are like sandpaper after just a few days use. Softsoap - you took a perfectly good product and ruined it. I can't use this anymore.

Horrible New Formula and Horrible New Scent

New formula and scent is horrible. Have been using this for years until the formula and scent changed. The new scent just plain stinks and is to strong and lingers way to long. The new formula is more of an irritant than soothing. IT DRIED OUT HANDS AND GAVE AN OVERALL REDNESS TO THE HANDS LIKE A CHEMICAL BURN...after weeks still working on healing hands...what was put in this new formula. Beware if you have sensitive skin or are a frequent hand washer. The old formula was great and the only hand soap used in my household and enjoyed it for many years but NOT this new formula or new scent. I would give this new formula and new scent zero stars if I could.
