Softsoap Aquarium - Unpleasant New Scent

Our family has used Softsoap Aquarium Liquid Hand Soap for many years because the unique scent was so clean, light and subtle. Were shocked to find that the fragrance has been changed, and it now has a very different scent that is strong, unpleasant scent. And that scent lingers!
We're not sure why the company would change such a pleasant and unique fragrance.

It seems like a true "New Coke" decision!
By the way, we haven't found any other suitable fragrance in the current Softsoap collection.

New formula is terrible. Smells awful.

I have been using this soap for over 20 years. It’s light, easy on skin, and well liked. I recently got a new refill that had “new fragrance” labels on the bottle. It was terrible. It has a sweet, candy like scent. I returned it and will not longer buy unless the original scent is brought back. You lost a 20 plus year customer. Please bring the original back.

Disappointed in scent change

Only rating 1 star because of the scent change that has been made to the original formula.I have been using this soap for years, and am always willing to pay extra for it over store brand. The new scent smells like cheap, almost like a perfume berry smell. I don’t know if this is because of supply chain issues in accessing the formula for the original scent, a move to save money, or both. I’m extremely disappointed in this change and hope this feedback, as well as feedback from other longtime customers, is considered.

New scent is awful

New scent is awful! Didn't realized the scent was changed and now I have a house full of soap dispensers I can't use because the new scent gives me migraines. Finding a soap that doesn't trigger headaches or my asthma is impossible and I used to bring this with me to wash my hands when I'm out. Now I have to to search for something new. Bring back the old scent!!!

Please bring back the original scent!

The new scent is just awful. I had been buying the aquarium soap for 15 years. It was the only soap I’d buy because of its clean scent that didn’t trigger my sensitivity to smell. The original aquarium designs were also so cute. I simply cannot use the new fragrance - it is so strong, sweet, and perfume-y. The scent lingers on your hands and gives me a headache. Soooo disappointed that you changed what WAS the best hand soap out there. Please bring back the original scent for your once loyal customers!

Disappointed in Formula Change

I am unable to use the new formula. In my opinion, it is overly scented. I loved the old formula because I have scent allergies along with other members of my family. I have used the soft soap aquarium series for years. It was the only soap I was able to use without triggering my migraines. I am very disappointed in the change. Hopefully, you have received enough feedback that the company will continue to produce a product that scent sensitive people can use under a new packaging or bring back the old formula to the aquarium series. Until then, I will be on the search for another brand.

Why did you change the Aquarium scent? It’s awful!

Been using for almost 20 years. The new Aquarium scent is disgusting. It smells like cheap mens cologne has been added. I have fragrance sensitivity and bought this specific soap because of its light scent. You’ve lost a long term loyal customer with this new horrid smell.

Horrible new scent

Why did you change the scent? I hate the new smell. As most of us here we were used to the old scent and kept buying it for a reason. Most people don’t leave reviews. Please take the feedback of the ones who as a representation of the silent majority and change it back. I will no longer buy this soap.
