Newer scent and formula is terrible!

Countless 1-star reviews don't lie, perhaps you should bring back what many loyal customers loved and used for years. Why on Earth you would change the classic Aquarium scent is beyond me. I've been using my stock up at home and finally ran out and bought a new refill bottle. I was confused and thought I bought the wrong scent until I came here and read the reviews and realized it wasn't just me. The scent now is terrible, I don't even want to use it for the sake of just using it up. The clean scent and lather used to be perfect. Guess like many others here I now have to search for a new brand and scent. I'll repeat the sentiment - if it ain't broke, don't fix it!

Nauseating smell

I just opened a refill I bought the other day and washed my hands. The soap left a disgusting fruity smell on my hands. It makes my so nauseated. I'm going to try to take the refill back to the store and tell them it's defective because it certainly isn't the usual refill I've been buying for forever.

Nobody: Soft soap: Let's change the scent of the aquarium soap even though it's been the same for decades. I'm so upset by this change, we buy in bulk. No more until I hear it's been changed back.

Agree with the recent reviews. The new scent is terrible. Loyal customer will no longer buy aquarium softsoap. Please change back to the old formula.

Awful new scent

Just opened up a new refill bottle I bought a while back to have on hand and filled up my empty dispenser. Then realized it had a gross fake perfume-y smell. And the smell lingers for quite a while. Why don’t companies realize that a lot of people don’t want to smell like perfume counters or fake fruity/flowery scents?? And why change a product that’s been well-loved by so many for so long??? (Also, no warning of a scent change on the bottle, so I feel like I had money stolen from me by Softsoap, because now I have a large refill bottle that smells awful and I can’t continue using.)
After 20+ years of buying Softsoap Aquarium Series, I’ll be having to switch to a different brand. Very disappointed.

Beware: unadvertised new scent

I’ve been happily using this product forever; perhaps for two decades? Sure feels that way! Imagine my supreme disappointment to discover they recently changed the scent, and they did so without a label indicating the change. I’m heartbroken! I’ve had brain surgery through my nose twice, and I’m highly sensitive to scents as a result. This product was one of the few scented soaps I could tolerate. Now I can’t. It’s kind of floral but not quite, and it lingers on the skin for ages. I had to wash my hands with unscented dish detergent four times to get rid of the smell. Very disappointing.

Bring back the original scent please!

I just used up my last stock of 80 oz bottle of Softsoap Aquarium and went out to restock. I was horrified by the new scent and was convinced that I had somehow bought the wrong product. I tried to rinsing my hands to get rid of the scent but it is overwhelming. I also tried diluting the soap but the scent still lingers. I am so disappointed that my favorite holy grail hand soap has been "upgraded". Please bring back the original scent as I had to return all the bottles I purchased as I can not use this product any longer due to sensitivity.

New scent awful!!!

Hate the new smell, the whole family does. Several of us in my family are sensitive to smells, and the old/original scent we could all use! This new scent is horrible and I had to throw away the whole big jug of refill :( Please, please bring back the original scent.
