It does the job but if you are particular on how it feels the tape has a gritty feel to it versus other brands where it feels smooth

rolls deteriorated before use

I bought this supply of tape within the past two years but did not use more than four rolls in that amount of time. The supply was stored in a dark cabinet the boxes unopened and still stacked within the outer cellophane wrap with decent climate control but when I tried to use a roll to refill a dispenser during Christmas wrapping this winter the tape on the new roll shredded and was useless. I opened a second roll and the same condition occurred. I could not get a piece of tape to unroll without tearing and trickling off to nothing. Did I buy a defective 12-pack? Or does the Staples brand of invisible tape deteriorate within a couple of years even in an unopened unused state?
We have purchased this tape for years. My wife is an avid eBay/Etsy seller. When we received our last order of 12 rolls she immediately started to complain about it not cutting on the dispenser. I at first thought possibly it was the dispenser that had an issue. Further checks using our other two dispenser resulted in the same issue the tape just would not cut easily. My wife has decided to just use scissors to cut the tape. Once cut the tape sticks great that is the reason it gets 3 stars as opposed to 1 star. Staples please go back to the old way of making this tape as it is junk now.
