Very Strong...

This was a very strong cup of coffee, (I like my coffee strong) but it didn't have the smooth aftertaste I had hoped for.

My wife tells me I'm overly critical about "her" coffees. She says I'm an "espresso snob" as that's normally all I drink. She says this because I am completely absorbed in the hobby (i.e., passion) of brewing my own from our professional grade espresso machine that I imported from Italy. I counter that the espresso snob label doesn't entirely fit, as I will from time to time have a pod-cup out of her Keurig brewer. (Truth be told, the extreme ease of getting a quick caffeine fix from her brewer compared to the time-consuming process of drawing a cup of espresso from my machine is quite compelling at times.) While some of the cups I've sampled are indeed pleasing, none that I've yet tried are quite in the same class as this one. My first cup caught me completely by surprise. It gracefully treads that fine line between smoky and dark. The teeter-tottering that it does in this realm creates a great deal of interest for the senses. The flavor notes are superb and moderately complex. All in all, it makes for a very satisfying cup. All that said, I do have to say that this coffee is a bit "picky" about the water and brew cycle used to make it. (As a quality coffee, this is to be expected.) I've found that it's always best to start with fresh, cold, filtered water. And, like my espresso machine, I've found that if our Keurig Platinum brewer has been on and sitting idle for awhile (like, overnight) that it is best to pull a blank shot (i.e., run a cup of water with no pod in the slot) before brewing the first cup.

Think I found my K-cup!

I've been trying the stronger roasts of k-cups and this one is it for me. No more going to the coffee shop. If you like the stronger blends try this one , you won't be disappointed!

Finally, a true French Roast. I have always loved French roast but have been unable to find a k-cup that fits my taste. This one is perfect. NICE STRONG SMOKEY perfect flavor. You can't ask for more from a k-cup. My new favorite, don't need any other!

Closest K-Cup to French Press Coffee

Like a fresh-ground pot of French press coffee. Bold flavor with a dark roast without tasting burnt. Definitely the best K-Cup so far.

Nice and light roast, but I was drinking it while eating a brownie, and the brownie totally wiped out the coffee taste. This coffee tasted better when I had it alone, later in the day. Good, but I will not buy again. This is totally a personal preference, because I like espresso roasts better. if you like mild, smooth, coffee, you will like this one.
Pros: Not Bitter, Smooth Taste
Cons: Not Enough Flavor, Roasted Too Light

I'm a one or two cup per day kind of coffee user, but I've become more particular and now want a good super strong flavour, none of this weak stuff..this is the perfect blend
