[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Staples ProGel Pen is a very good pen. It is very comparable to my usual gel pen in functionality and design especially. Since I'm left-handed finding a pen that writes consistently without smudging is challenging and the Staples ProGel Pen met that challenge. The ink dry time was great and I did not notice any smudging while using the pen. The triangular grip on this pen made it easy and comfortable to hold. Its rich blue color was also very pleasing. The things that I liked most about the pen were that it wrote consistently fluidly and did not smudge. The only reason that kept it from getting 5 stars was that I would have preferred an ever-so-slightly bolder line.

Office Basics Done Well

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Big fan of these pens. Attention to detail is obvious as soon as you take it out of the package with the tip covers to ensure it writes the first time it touches paper. The ink itself is the same shade and tone as any other major brand and the tip width is nice. The tail end of pen strokes is finer and avoids sloppy blotches at the end of words. My favorite thing about the pen is the triangular-shaped grip with a nice texture. I find the broader surface more comfortable for longer writing sessions over a circular grip.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pen is very comfortable to hold. It has a rubber grip around the base. It’s not a super soft rubber but there’s enough cushion to it for it to be comfortable. This pen also writes like a dream. There are other more expensive brands out there and this one achieves the same outcome if not better. The gel writes very nicely without any breaks in the writing and dries very quickly! I appreciate it being retractable as well since I’m typically throwing it in my car or a bag and don’t want pen marks everywhere. Also one less peice to keep up with!

Solid Pen Choice

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have stuck to the same type of pen for almost 10 years now but its almost impossible to find in store and expensive to buy online. This Staples ProGel pen is a solid substitute and a good choice for anyone who is as peculiar about pens as I am. It feels like a luxury pen because it writes so smoothly and the grip is comfortable. The all black design is my favorite part because it makes it feel very sleek and professional when I use it at work. The ink did not dry instantly but it was very quick and much faster than most other gel pens I've tried. I'm a lefty and I didn't have any problem with smudging from my hand so this is a good pen for people who are left handed and don't want to turn their notebook upside down when they write with it. The Staples ProGel pen will definitely be living on my desk from now on.

Smooth feel and bold writing

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love the feel of this Staples ProGel Pen in my hand as it glides across the page. I’m a nurse so I handwrite chart notes all day. I need a utensil that’s bold dries quickly and doesn’t smear. I write pretty rapidly and this pen dries extremely fast! The retraction mechanism is smooth with a satisfying “click.” The finger grip is comfortable and allows for sturdiness while holding. I prefer 0.5mm fine point for my writing but I still found this pen very pleasant to use compared to others. I deducted one star as the ink almost loses its flow and sometimes does not produce a solid mark with fast writing.

Pretty good pen overall

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This pen was comfortable to hold as it has a foam grip near the base. The overall experience using the pen was pretty average. This pen does not compare to my favorite gel pen brand. The thickness of the writing tip was a thicker than I prefer. I prefer an extremely fine tip pen. The overall smoothness of the ink was smooth but not as smooth as I prefer. The ink dried in a reasonable amount of time however it did smear on certain types of materials especially if they had a glossy finish like greeting cards. Most gel pens smear on those surface types so it isn’t necessarily a defect in this pen. Overall this pen was comfortable and pretty smooth to write with. However I wouldn’t switch from my favorite brand.

Great gel pen with a comfortable grip

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Staples ProGel Pen is a great retractable pen that I think is very comparable to a name-brand gel pen that I typically prefer to use. I do a lot of writing as part of my job and I am very picky about my pens. I actually bring my own pens to work because I don’t like the ones that they provide. The Staples pen writes very smooth and dries very quickly so it is not easily smudged. My favorite part is the ergonomic grip which is very comfortable and something that the name brand gel pen is lacking. At times I felt like the pen wrote a little thick but nothing that I found to be a problem. I will be interested to see how long the pen lasts compared to my usual pen; I’ve currently been using it for 2 weeks. I go through pens quickly at my job. I would definitely use the Staples pen in place of the name-brand pen and an added bonus is that Staples brand items are usually at a lower price point. If it does cost less I don’t feel that it is sacrificing quality.

No more smeared ink1

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am on call for work quite a bit so find myself taking notes on any available scrap of paper. I have found smeared ink later that made it hard to read my notes. That is no longer an issue when I use the Staples ProGel Pen! I keep one in my backpack in the car and of course in my desk now. Of course since my coworkers have discovered how well they work I have to hide them to avoid them being stolen.
