Although I had many choices, I selected this one because it was the least expensive and the
color was solid black. I had just read an article about check tampering, and the author suggested writing all checks with a black gel pen. I put one in my purse, one on my desk, gave one to a friend, and put two in a drawer for future need.

I’m a fan of blue pens rather than black. I made a special trip to Staples to get more of these. They’re a bold blue color and don’t smear. They weren’t the least expensive, but in my opinion are the best in their category.

The ink flow dries up in the middle of use ALL the time. Even when it is still full of ink. When it does flow, it can be quite heavy. I store them upright and I've had to throw some away because I couldn't get the flow back.
