To someone who writes with a pen a lot these have a very nice feel they roll across the paper beautifully. I can do my best writing with a pen like this. And the price is terrific!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] These pens work perfectly and the ink is easy to read as well. Staples ProGel Pens (bold 1.0 mm blue) offer smooth writing bold ink saturation quick drying ink to eliminate smudging/smearing and excellent readability for writing. I think the ergo grip is comfortable the ink really is dependably smear/smudge proof (I ran a finger directly over my writing using my free hand to see if it would smudge and there was nothing). I like these pens and would definitely recommend trying them.

Great budget option if you prefer gel pens

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I definitely prefer gel pens over any other style so I was excited to try out the Staples ProGel Pen. I think the bold thickness of 1.0mm is absolutely perfect (I previously tried Staples ProGel 0.7mm and it's a little thinner than I like) and it really makes your writing stand out on the page - boldly! The ink is nice and smooth and the blue color is deep and saturated. I will say that the grip of the pen is not as comfortable as I would like and that's the main reason I am giving this 4 out of 5 stars in my rating. The ridges ensure that the pen won't slip between your fingers while you're writing but I would prefer a softer padding. Another reason I gave this 4 stars is because of quality control. Granted this box comes with 12 pens and is a great value especially if you work in an office where your coworkers always seem to "accidentally" walk away with your pen... because it doesn't break the bank to grab a new one! But the very first pen I grabbed from the box was missing the tiny red "cap" at the tip that prevents the ink from drying out. Sure enough that particular pen was skipping a bit because the ink had dried. Out of 12 pens in the box only one was missing the red cap and I just happened to grab the unlucky one. It's not a dealbreaker by any means and probably even expected when you buy budget pens! Lastly as you can see from my photo I wrote "smudge test" and immediately ran my finger over those words. I was pleasantly surprised that the ink did not smudge at all! I definitely expected to get a little ink on my finger or smear the words but the ink seems to dry instantly. I was very impressed. Overall I don't think I would use this as my everyday pen due to the comfort factor but I would absolutely keep a few tucked in my bag for that emergency situation when someone asks "Got a pen?"

Smooth writing experience with vivid ink

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am picky when it comes to my writing utensils and I am pleasantly surprised by the quality of the Staples Pro Gel Pen. The ink lays down well on paper and dries quickly with no smudging. The blue ink is vivid and dark and as a left-handed person it does not smear as I write across the page. A great option for a precise smooth writing experience.

Gel without the mess

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] As a teacher my go to pen is either gel or felt tip. I typically steer away from gel pens when I have to sign reports because they always smear - always! These pens however do the exact opposite! They write like gel and have the gel feel - you know that amazing gliding feeling while you write! - and they dry almost immediately. I absolutely LOVE using them in my classroom. The only thing I'm not a fan of and to be honest it's just me being picky is the clicking sound when you retract the pen. It's a little "click-ier" than usual retractable pens. But if you're a gel pen lover and hate the mess I definitely would recommend these!

Take it from a picky pen person

As a kid my desk drawer was a treasure trove of pens—hotel freebies restaurant giveaways vibrant gel pens and felt-tip markers galore. You get the picture. Fast forward to adulthood where in my profession note-taking is practically a job requirement and naturally I've found the pen: blue or black gel pens of course. Enter the ProGel Pens from Staples—a fantastic dupe for another brand I've been hoarding since grad school. These gems deliver excellent quality and to my delight they’re also easier on the wallet. Consider me officially impressed!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I recently received a pack of Staples ProGel 1.0 pens for free in return for my honest review . I have to say these pens are amazing! The ink flows so smoothly making writing an absolute breeze. The gel dries quickly so no smudges even on glossy surfaces which is a big win for me. I used these pens to write a ton of birthday cards recently—seriously so many cards—and not once did the ink skip or dry out. The grip is comfortable too so my hand didn’t cramp even after writing for ages. The bold rich ink gives every word a professional and polished look which is perfect for special occasions or even everyday use. If you’re someone who values a reliable smooth-writing pen the Staples ProGel 1.0 is definitely worth trying out. Highly recommend!
