Every couple of years or so I buy a box of gel pens. They seem to disappear while the old ball point pens multiply in my desk. This year I bought the Staples brand to see how they are. They are identical to the more expensive pens!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I’m a huge fan of high quality pens that write well and these Staples Retractable ProGel Pens are perfect! I tried them on a couple difference paper types too and the results are consistently smooth writing. The grip is very comfortable and allows for nice control. I prefer retractable pens because ones with covers often go missing so this design is exactly what I prefer.

Good gel pen

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I consider myself a pen snob - so this review is very truthful. I enjoy trying different handwriting fonts and need a good pen to write and then go in and fill in bolder parts of the letters … gel pens are not my go to but after trying this pen I was very happy and surprised by how well it turned out. The ink was very fluid when writing out the letters the first time. When going back and filling in more of the letter’s boldness it did have trouble getting ink out evenly. I had to really take my time to do it … not my favorite. BUT as a regular gel pen for regular writing this was great! The drying time for the ink was also quick so there was so smudging. I left one of the words regular to show the thickness of the ink to paper ratio.

Better than the old fave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love my pens despite doing a lot of computer work and I absolutely love a bold rich gel pen. I used to have an old go-to brand but when using the 1.0’s I’ve noticed the quality decrease with lots of leaking and smudging. I was skeptical of a store brand though until I tried these. Honestly they are way better- very little smudging and no inkey fingers afterwards. Smooth bold lines. The grip is even a little more comfortable with the triangular design. I can say I’ll be switching out my pen cup for more of these!

Comfortable to write with

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have a wonky pen grasp- like stay back in school bad. Most pens hurt to write with after a few minutes. I also end up with sloppy writing because my hand ends up hurting. I was so excited to try these progel pens out. They are very comfortable to use and allow for smooth transitions while you write. My hand did not get tired at all while writing out many thank you cards. I also like medium point pen since I think it makes handwriting look prettier but that’s just my personal preference. Best part is there is no smudge which happens quite often when using gel!
