I love dark/bold coffees, but they have seemed a little heavy for the hot days of summer. The description of this coffee seemed intriguing so I ordered a box and am liking it. It doesn't have quite the depth of flavor as a French Roast, but is a lighter version which works for me for this hot Texas summer. It's got character unlike most medium roast coffees, but not so bold as to be unacceptable.
I read the caption on the order form. We decided to try it and it's become the only coffee we drink. 2 years ago, we went to the Upper Michigan, Copper Harbor to be precise and stayed in a state owned camp ground. They have Hosts at the camp ground who help you out. Well one night, we invited them over to the campfire and introduced them to Lake & lodge. The camp hostess said, "Hang on" and went to camp sight and brought back "Oatmeal raisen cookies". Homemade and it was a very pleasant evening. When ever I have the same combination, I go back to Michigan. That is truly "GOD'S" country!
I typically do not drink Keurig style coffee because I thoroughly enjoy drinking regular brewed coffee and they do not taste the same. However, the Lake and Lodge is the closest to what a regular cup of coffee tastes like. So, if you want a single cup that actually tastes like coffee, try Lake and Lidge. Too bad I cannot find this type in any stores.
